I'm sorry, I tried watching and he's painful to watch which is the problem with most YouTube. Good for his certain success. Just another "it goes to 9k rpm and listen to that noise" as their definition of experience. That clamshell is just horid and shame it wasn't ducktail like it's classy cousin the SC.

I am 100% convinced though, many of these guys have driven terribly boring cars most their life.

In the time it took you to type that nonsense you could've done a quick google on Matt Farah. He's driven almost everything, owns plenty of non-boring cars, and has been doing it for decades.

It's not nonsense. Al did a great job summarizing the ST as barely different than a Touring and was short of saying it's not worth the price of admission. He can sell you a reverse mortgage to cover the cost though.

I don't follow this type of reasoning, especially on a car forum where presumably most people are successful and wealthy.

A platinum daytona is barely different than a steel daytona, yet it's 5X the price. How is it people do not understand the law of diminishing returns or the assignment of "value" in luxury items?

He's a respectable journalist (R&T), youtuber, and podcaster. And he's driven just about every Porsche. Not too long ago was invited to AP's favorite GT cars day...

996 RS
997 RS 4.0
997 GT2RS
911R
991 GT2RS

If he thinks the S/T is the best modern Porsche ever, there's gotta be some truth to it. Certainly no truth in making a determination before one even drives it.

I was paraphrasing him. See 15:3X in the video when he says "is it worth the 100k difference from GT3T", then goes on to say "Truth be told no".

Saying it's as good as any modern Porsche is far from say the best. He's saying it's on par.

Correct, AS meaning as in any modern. He basically outlined his beliefs regarding prices not worth it says enough frankly.

we all have to make decisions as to what price we put on improvements from model to model. I personally think spending $80k more for a Turbo S vs a GTS is absolutely ridiculous as the driving experience is similar, but a lot of people justify it and get a Turbo S. Same thing for the vast majority of people who buy a GT3 RS, they will never track it so other than peacocking around town are they really getting that much better of a driving experience then say a 911 T?Different strokes for different folks.

Welp, if the 992.2 GT3 Touring does the following, then I'm sold. And it's almost too easy to assume that this will be the case.

Frankly, the S/T’s steering rate, removal of rear-steer, and shock tuning should be the standard on the GT3 Touring.
