Funny how the guys that were always pushing narratives about GT3's not being driven and garage "queens" and asking people for photos of their odometer
are the one's that don't really drive their car much.
Strange.

I'm not sure where this whole let's demonize people who don't drive 1000 miles a month thing originates from. People know I've driven my 991.2 GT3 Touring a lot before I sold - it 14k miles in 2 years to be exact. But here's the thing, how much can you drive a car if it's not your daily and you are busy working? Most people I know who have multiple cars they own are pretty busy. I know some people are swimming in money and have time to wake up at 1pm, do a line of coke, do some hot yoga, and then get on rennlist to bitch about ADM, but really the successful people seem not to have this luxury (those people really should drive their cars). So say you work M-Fri 7am to 7pm. You have a family. You need to go home to them. You need to exercise. And of course you need one hour to become the secret keyboard assassin on rennlist. That leaves you 4 weekends a month. I bet if you're busy your spouse or kids want some of that weekend time. And I bet if you're busy and successful - you probably have still work to do on the weekends... and that leaves you with maybe one morning or night to drive a car... for a few hours... which is maybe 100 miles. If, like some people who own GT and special Porsches, have more than 5 cars... I can see why barely any miles are put on the car. Should we hate them?
I work.. a lot. Consequence of being a heart transplant/artificial heart pump surgeon. I have only 2 full weekends off a month. 1 weekend I go to LA to visit my dad who is nearly going blind. So that leaves me with 1 weekend, which my wife wants to do things... so if I'm lucky I get to drive a car once a month for maybe 100-200 miles. Does this mean I shouldn't own a GT car or my Mclaren or my NSX-R? I take all of them to the track at least once every 2-3 years.
The only reason I put so many miles on my 991.2 Touring was because it was my daily for 2 years. But I needed a 4 door that was ICE for when the in-laws visit. Hence, the M5. My M5 has tons of miles. My other cars don't get as many.
So my view, and take it for what it's worth - which is nothing really, is I don't care how many miles you drive your car. Just enjoy it and drive it well when you do. Take it to the hills, mountains, scenic ocean drive... before your local C&C. Pay whatever you want for it... if that's what you think it's worth. And use this thread to get a sense of what ADM the market supports to at least have an informed idea of what the market value is relative to what you value the car as.
I just tripped off the soap box now...

4000 miles on a 992 GT3 is most certainly a "driven" car...unknown circumstances aside.

To me, that's wasting the car and one less car available for people who want to drive the cars, but I understand that people can and will do what they want with their cars.
I feel like my 991.2 3RS has some mileage-sensitive collectability, and so I initially wondered if I should track it, but I concluded that I bought the car to drive it, not as an investment, and I can afford to depreciate the car by driving it, so I'm going to drive it without any inhibition or restriction. Having made that decision, I feel like the more miles I put on it, the better.
