Have you tracked a 991 or 992 TT/S? I did with both of them, and found the experience kind of addictive. There's a kind of uber competence to the performance which is evident on the road and translates to the track, and the cars are built Porsche tough. My feelings align pretty well with Randy Pobst:

I'll track my McLaren at least once to experience that, but I don't trust the car to be reliable as a regular track car.

I'm trying to consolidate, and we recently sold the 981 GT4.

Cars costing well over $300k aren't for me, I'll stay in middle lane.

I had a 991.2 TTS and I miss it (traded in for 992 GT3). I think that one day I'll have a 991.2 TTS again in the consolidated garage.

Here's probably the low end of the current market - Canadian car, no FAL/PCCB etc, a couple scratches. $212k + fee + cost to import, probably $225k all in.

i have. It’s not that it isn’t great, it’s that I wouldn’t choose it over the other contenders in your garage. I didn’t enjoy its extra weight even with the extra hp over a McLaren or 3rs. You gotta do you.

Understood. If I could have only one track car, it would be the 3RS, without hesitation. It’s because the wife and I can have more than two track cars that I can find a place for the 992 TT/S, because it complements the RS cars. It’s a bit of a cliche, but it’s kind of that sledgehammer vs scalpel thing.

There was a dude last weekend at laguna in a 991.1 turbo S in my run group and that thing hauls for sure. He was a tad faster than me and another dude in a 4rs

might be one of the fastest cars u can get for the price as I’m guessing those are maybe 125k now…

track time bargain

That 991 was probably tuned to the gills. That was 991 imagine a 992 with better front end, more grip, more power + tune
You get a lot of car/money and sadly most will never get tracked but if you can manage the weight, brake little earlier and 100% throttle on exit, they are crazy fast especially faster tracks.

There is a reason why the 991.2 TTS set the PIkes Peak HIll Climb record, albeit briefly, in 2022.

Did something beat it's record time already in the production class? I thought It was still the top...

I think it's the M8 now.

Turbo s was faster than the M8 at 9:53 vs 10:12. TTS time was an official timed run but not sanctioned race for the record books. I have both cars. Amazing cars but M8 not meant to be compared IMO. For how heavy it is and 1/2 the money it’s a deal but….

Ahh, yeah that makes sense...didn't think it beat the TTS on any go's up the hill so it makes sense for that classification specifically.

You guys are making me regret trading in my 991.2 TTS …
