Who knew that Rennlist would be such an incredible "contrary" indicator?

Congrats on the build. Is it winged?

yes it is winged. thank you very much.

i purchased this vehicle to drive so resale value is not the top of my priorities. also this was clearly an emotional purchase. and the dealer won. but I get to drive the **** out of the car. can you put a price on happiness?

Did you talk to any MSRP dealers?

Someone should set up a poll to find out what people have actually paid - below MSRP, MSRP, 10k over, 20k over, etc.

Ah yes, about 40% saying no ADM at the time. So ‘going rate’ is not simply tens of thousands ADM.

I'm surprised that our resident ADM tracker wasnt aware of this poll.
Of the ADM's paid, it looks as though the median was right around $50,000.

We would need an Internet Lie Detector to determine the actual numbers. 😆

Moreover, there's no provision for how many of those "MSRP" guys were people that took a beating on their trade in and/or were forced to purchase add-ons like PPF or a watch.

AND...let's not forget, being 'forced' to finance the car thru PFS at a huge mark up from the manufacturer's rate.

For my MSRP allocation, no mandatory trade in, extras, or financing.

You have a decades length relationship and double digit car buying history. Should probably include that context. It's obvious enough that those who are asking what current ADMs are for these cars do not have that type of dealer relationship or they wouldn't be asking in here.

I've mentioned this before but a friend of mine put in a lot of effort to get an allocation and could not find any dealer at MSRP. He had a spreadsheet, made phone calls, put in all the leg work dealing with GM's at every single dealer in the country. The lowest he was offered was an allocation at 40K which he took from a dealer in Arizona (we are in the tri-state).

So overall, I think there are a lot of factors one needs to consider. Location (east / west / Texas/Florida) get killed compared to dealers in the mid-west for example Ohio. One can have a prior relationship with their dealer or might have a favorable trade in or high rate of purchase/trade in's frequently. But realistically, not everyone is buying a new car every year or two for a decade to be get on the "MSRP" side or has a setup like USC or some other folks on these forums. Lastly, this forum is filled with enthusiast who has a history of buying p-car's but your regular customer who just wants to walk in and has no brand preference will never get a MSRP deal.

I have a prior relationship with my dealer, I go to service there, and they wouldn't budge off their ADM of 75k. They continue to ask and sell TTS's at 50K, and have sold 5 RS allocations at 200K so I can't blame them.

Out of all the dealerships in the US, I think there are less than 20 which can be considered "MSRP" dealers and they will only sell to locals unless you have some ridiculous business model like USC who buys, trades, sells on an unrealistic rate that the average consumer will never do. Plus he mentioned it took a large deal just to get in line to have the relationship he does. There are a lot of factors one should consider instead of just looking at poll numbers. In the tri-state, you are NOT getting MSRP unless there is a favorable setup between client and dealer.

Rookie GT car owner here.

For those of us who paid ADM (not peak ADM) but more than the avg. at the time, trading in the current GT car with <3000 miles, in a year or two, to a dealer at 20% under msrp to get the next GT car at 'msrp' is a non starter. Especially since msrp went up by like $18K and potentially more hikes are coming. I'd sell the car to the open market with a mark up, any day before I do that and then pay a shopped around ADM if necessary for the next iteration GT car if it interests me. The GT thing is purely transactional for the most part as evidenced by my own experience, so wearing the 'I got mine at msrp' badge as some kind of trophy would only apply to those who truly got an msrp allocation with no other tradeable context attached to it. Highly unlikely. In our local Pcar group, those who did get at msrp have a long time trading back cars at under market value to their respective dealers. The economics of that don't make much sense to me.

I am on my 4th 992 and if I had traded in the preceding 3 back to the dealer at a discount from market, I would be loosing money, even after TTT. Maybe that's just the effect of the last 3 years of the car market but still, timing is everything.

Small reference point: The dealer that I work with the Mrs. Pcars sold me at the height of crazyness, a GTS allocation at msrp. My builds are always highly optioned. No trade in, no ADM (going rate for a GTS at that time was $35-$50K ADM). They asked, not forced, to do the PPF with them and the financing options were up to me, not forced either.
