There are currently 435 991 and 992 GT cars listed for sale on cars.com. Many of them have had large drops in asking prices. That’s a lot of cars for sale, and I think it suggests that prices will continue to drop as dealers feel pressure to move them.
I’m at the track this weekend and my 991.1 GT3 has really been transformed into a better car by putting Goodyear Supercar 3 tires on it (cheaper and better than Cup 2, and they last longer). You guys who are pining for a 992 GT car should consider grabbing a 991 GT car and putting these tires on it. We’re thinking of buying a second 991.1 GT3 CPO for my wife.

I use Supercar 3s on my 992 C2S with 19/20” track wheels. Great bang for your buck, and very responsive. But if you want to transform your track experience try the Supercar 3Rs. Not as cheap as they used to be and don’t last very long but the grip is something to be experienced. I’ve been saving a set for cool weather and tired them this weekend. Incredible grip combined with the cool weather resulted in -2.7s reduction in my PB at Buttonwillow. You can use these on a 992 GT3 but you’ll have to get 19” wheels made. This can be done as one of the 992 GT3 owners had these on his car.

So you are suggesting renting a Ferrari for the night, instead of purchasing one?
Makes sense.
Pay the cash for the flash, then dash (for the door).

So you have always wanted to have a new Porsche delivered in Europe and after a vacation driving through the Alps your new car would get shipped home to your dealer. Turns out with all the delays and unknown build dates this gets complicated to schedule with Porsche and do you really want your new baby squished into underground parking lots and driven over rock strewn mountain roads and run the risk of accidents when driving with unfamiliar rules of the road and on narrow village roads?
I rented a 911 Cab from the Porsche museum program named Porsche Drive for 400 Euros a day including insurance which limits liability to $2,500 and can be scheduled right from their website for pick up on a specific date and even to the hour.
my wife and I rented this 911 Cab 4S - brand new- for 18 days and it worked out great. They offer the entire range of Porsche vehicles - Macon, Cayenne, Panamera, Taycon even Turbos or 718’s.In 2023 they plan to offer GT cars as well.
this Porsche Drive rental program has locations across the United States and from dealerships on every continent. Rent a new 911 for a day or even for months under their long term rental program. No maintenance costs either.

On the other hand, your question “do you really want your new baby squished into underground parking lots and driven over rock strewn mountain roads and run the risk of accidents when driving with unfamiliar rules of the road and on narrow village roads?” really sounds a bit dramatic and really doesn’t give credit to the joy derived from driving your own car on (wonderful) European roads and highways.
I personally took part in the European Delivery with BMW and it was an absolute blast, plus the car arrived like new back in the USA.
The experience was terrific and this is actually one of the key drivers as to why I would like to spec order my car vs. second hand or off the showroom floor in the USA.
At the same time, may be the fact that I am originally from Europe and know the roads there may be part of it… dunno, but if you are that worried about your car (whenever you can have PPF installed by PAG), makes me wonder how cautious you are with your car(s) and if you really manage to enjoy it (them) with complete peace of mind or not.

I think you are right in that it was a late bonus allocation. I did not take it. With the spec I'd want, it would be nearing a 265k + tt&l. I frankly don't believe it's a 265k car. If it was sticker I would have pulled the trigger. Considering I already have a 991 GT3 which was purchased at the bottom of the market in 2020, I am not in a rush to step into the newest.

I'm at $209k. But in my opinion, I cant really find another car that delivers this kind of performance at this price point.
Nice buy in 2020!
