What do you guys think will happen to blue chip cars like CGT or F40?

CGT shot up in value from 900k to 1.6M. If economy gets worse, will it go back? I think it will drop a little but stabilize around 1.2-1.3

Would you pay 30k ADM for a honda civic type R? I would laugh as I am not even interested in it.

not even close to right. Have more than one friend in this category who join us for car rallies. They love all things 911, from regular and vintage 911‘s to 959 and Singer DLS. They buy plenty of new cars but, as long-time customers, they typically pay no premium and find it distasteful to be asked to pay premium. people are still people and they buy what they like to drive, including regular 911‘s

sold for 300, or 95 over msrp, plus buyer’s premium, so approximately 100 over. Hard to square this ADM with the recent GT3 at Sotheby's Monterey that went for 417. I guess there is still some magic motivation during major, in person auctions

Pure speculation, but anyone that’s a big deal isn’t paying ADM. ADMs are paid by nobodies. The guys that are a big deal probably buy 10-15 cars every six months from a group like Ogara, and they don’t bitch and cry like your average buyer thinking they’re important because they buy 1 car a year.

Peasants like us buy when there’s economic uncertainty or collapse.

I placed my demand order for a GTS in July 2021, and was granted an allocation at MSRP November 4, 2021. I’m a nobody, but had to do it when everyone else had cold feet.

I missed a 13k mile CGT for $700k back in Nov 2020 by 1 day. SIGH I think CGT pricing will be flattish unfortunately for me.

This is true.

And the real irony here is that people who don't need to pay ADM's actually do not care whether they have to pay an ADM of 10k or 100k or nothing at all, because for them the ADM (no matter the amount) doesn't even amount to a rounding error.

But for the rest of us hoi polloi who actually have to pay an ADM, the amount of the ADM (no matter the amount) actually matters ... hence this thread which is now over 100 pages and counting ... sigh.

True.
And all it takes are two bidders who want the car more than anyone else to get into a bidding "war" in person at that particular moment in Monterey.

I agreed to an ADM on the 2023 992 TTS with an Oct 28, 2022 delivery date.

My question is has anybody ever renegotiated their purchase between ordering and delivery?
I'm 100% prepared to pay the agreed price. I want the car...and I signed the contract.
But, market conditions have changed quite a bit. The 2022 TTS cars I've been tracking have dropped $20k in the last month.
Interest rates have gone up significantly, too.

Is it unreasonable to ask the dealer if theyll adjust the markup?

not unreasonable. They milked us, now we milk them. Just tell them you dont want the car anymore unless its msrp.

It will cost you nothing to ask. You did sign a contract. Not sure how the ADM is written up in it but most dealers would likely hold you to the fire as customers relations is not on their radar these days.

When I ordered my 991.2 RS I paid my 10K ADM and a deposit when I placed my order. That’s what the sales manager requested in March of 19’.

100% you can but just be ready for them to walk. Have a feeling the dealer will then call whoever they have on the lists now and see if someone is willing to step in at your agreed upon ADM. If they don't find anyone then they will come back to you and haggle.
