I really liked this car the first time I saw it hit the market. They were asking $77,998. Felt like a gut punch to read the carfax report. Even with their discount, if one goes to resell in a couple of years a private party would take a bigger hit on resell with that black mark.

What sucks is it was probably minor, non-structural, etc.

You wonder what the conversations are at the dealership about it? How much does the collective think they have into it?

From the looks of it, Porsche started offering extended warranties that go up to 6 years after the factory warranty expires. It can be stacked on top of a CPO as well. Same full coverage as CPO's.

Not sure what the costs are. I'm sure varies. Would be good to get more info at some point. I'm trying to get more clarification and info!

The last sentence in that last paragraph seems to indicate you can also purchase it outside of the time of original or CPO vehicle purchase, as long as you are within the manufacturers warranty period (presumably original, and not extended CPO period).

I guess this just became available like 5 months ago.

Man, you guys are on hyper alert to any posts!! Nice.

I was alerted to it here. Our buddy Rapture1 started a post.

As is usually the case, I seem to be able to find more info on the China Porsche sight, than the US version (you can even download users manuals from the China site, but unless you can read Chinese, they are not of much use). ;-)

That said, this seems to spell out more info about the extended warranty. It seems to elude that as long as you have a manufacturers warranty still active (presumably, original or CPO, or extended), you can further extend with another extended warranty up to 10 years of total warranty from car original punch date.

Here's the link....

^^^ nice work .. yes, this must be the most under promoted easy upsell $$$$ to date. I just heard about it. Why not promote it?? Look at the potential sales $$ for PCNA. I'm sure not cheap, but still .... PCNA does such a bad job sometimes having info available online.

Has PCNA ever offered such an extended warranty on previous models? The 991 must be pretty reliable for the mfg to offer this type of warranty. Just from my limited time with this car I am confident it is darn good and going to be reliable.

I think this is the first time ever ..

This warranty applies to all Porsche models. Probably not GT cars. Pretty smart on their part. Why let the third party guys take that business?? Plus a big plus to Porsche dealers keeping the service business away from the indies.

This looks very similar to the Australian extended warranty. That costs around $2k per year on a 911 with no deductible, is transferable and can be extended year by year up to 10 years old. If the car is less than 10 years old and the warranty has lapsed you can still buy it but they need to inspect and rectify any issues first.
