Reason: To fix the pictures
The only extended warranty I would buy is Carmax because it covers almost everything and with no hassle. I'd look carefully into what Fidelity covers.
Personally, I wouldn't get the warranty. The 991 has proven reliable as STG and many others have mentioned in this thread.
I've only had one car that I actually needed a warranty for (my S class). But if you look at the cars you own and the total of what you paid for the warranties vs. what they paid out, you almost always end up negative. Better to put some money off to the side for any potential repairs.
I bought an extended warranty on my Z06 but that was only because it was guaranteed peace of mind for the valve issues the LS7 has. The 991 has no such big issue.
Carmax uses the Fidelity Platinum warranty, so they are exactly the same thing. For $2k it's a no-brainer IMO. That 5 years starts from date of purchase too, not from in-service date.
You just bought this in February of this year! Why is it gone already and now you're looking for a GTS?? This was such a great build.
Who did you sell it to? Where did you have it listed? Also .... Why did you decide to sell so quick?
I listed it on Craigslist and sold in 3 hours. I don`t post it here because it was not HFS in my opinion. Mileage was around 20K and I sold it over 85K.
I sold it because it is impossible to keep a black car and unfortunately black shows every imperfections.
I knew all these befoer buying but i thought i can live with that but I couldn`t.
Btw, I drove the car for over 5K miles, car is fantastic.
Until now I bought & sold 15 cars and it will be the first time I will buy same car that I sold.
For Carmax and that GTS I'm thinking a trade-in is unlikely, so perhaps the previous owner just wanted to move it fast and not deal with a private party sale so just went there to move it. Alternatively, it could have come from auction I would think.

The 2014 991S I bought from Carmax for $76k had a $146k sticker and 9k miles on it. The finance guy told me the owner traded it in for $66k
New to the board! I am going from a Maserati Granturismo into a 911, and am picking up the car tomorrow (have deposit down). I just recently found this thread, and am looking for some confirmation that I am making the right decision. Some concerns I have with my purchase:
It is not CPO, but still has 27 months remaining on warranty
The rear bumper was refinished from an accident - I saw car in person and it looks great, and the proview report is available on the carfax
Miles are a little higher than I'd want, but I only put about 5k miles / year on my car, so I don't think it will be an issue at resale a few years down the road
I don't know what I don't know about these cars
Otherwise, it has just about every option I'd want except for premium PLUS package and parking sensor/rear view camera.
Here are the details, I'm purchasing the car for the negotiated price $74,500:

I would say the price is right for a non CPO car, with those options. I won't worry about CPO, with that much time left on the Warranty.
Did you have an independent PPI done? Or checked with your local dealer on the service history?
