if you're going to 100k you can get a c4s, likely 2014 and without a doubt 2013.

2015 991.1 C4 base w/ 2500 miles (demo) for $20k off MSRP without negotiating... lots of good options, too!

BTW, thank you for this thread, STG! I check it daily. Athough I am not *quite* ready to buy, I love doing my due diligence well before my next car endeavor.
Hey JTO, Welcome. I see you are in NJ, hence Flemington Porsche. Paul Miller Porsche is a great dealer in NJ. Prices are very competitive.

Re your find posted here - it has lots of great options ticked, but really missing the biggest one - "S". It's really the entry ticket in! Keep hunting, you will find something here. Make sure you check Porsche USA pre-owned locator. I'm sure you found it:

Great price point. Only 16K miles. Don't see anything about a CPO. One owner clean looking 991 C2S.

Top of the page: clean Guards Red 2013 C2S Aerokit, absolutely loaded, 1-owner and 11k miles.

This doesn't suck (sale pending, but could fall through, you never know...worth keeping an eye on)

Thoughts?

2014 C2S w/ 19K miles for $74,000

Lightly optioned, but seems super clean and a great price for a 2014 S. Does have three pedals and PASM sport option, so a nice (if basic) drivers configuration.

original post was deleted, so I deleted the reply, figuring the OP would appreciate it.

That car was at $78,000 for awhile; seems like a solid buy at that price. Like you said, a pretty lean build, but has everything you need. Still, might be a bit high as it is a pretty lean build. I am seeing CPO 2014's with fewer miles for around 67-68% of retail (but since this has few options, the resale price is going to be closer to 70%, which is right where you are). FWIW, the 2013 C2S Aerokit I linked above has 11,000 miles (the lack of mileage somewhat offsets a year older car) and is selling at 60% of retail, but no CPO (costs dealers $2500 or so). It has a lot of options (worth way less at resale), yours is lean (worth more as a % of original retail), so where is the sweet spot for a 2013-2014? 63-66%?

Who knows what that car will bring: there aren't that many manual enthusiasts once you get away from online forums. Local dealer has been asking $84k for a 2014 C2S with 6,000 miles (pretty lean build actually!) and it isn't going anywhere. No SPASM, no SC, no PSE, not much of anything except the standard premium-bose and 4-way seats that every car has.

eeing where other manuals are priced, especially base models (which have higher residuals), I think you can expect to pay around 67% of retail price for your listing as a very fair price (if it doesn't sell sooner). Offer $69k and maybe they counter with $71.

Yeah ... No CPO... $104K build.

Ummm... I personally wouldn't pay over $70K with those miles. It is a 2014 though....

In the $70K range, I'd find something else with more options.

Look at the 2012.5 Agate C2S at Paul Miller I posted yesterday. Lower asking $, higher MSRP and lower miles.

STG - Thanks for running this thread. As someone looking to get in to the 911 world this is a good basis for my own search. With all the available options it's hard (at least for someone with no Porsche experience) to gauge what a good deal is.

The '14 C2S you posted above looks like a good deal for someone like me with a less than or equal to $70k budget however I would never have taken the MSRP in to full account until your post above. I had originally thought, based on budget, that I'd be restricted to a C2 only, but it appears I may be able to dab my toe in to C2S territory as well!

Thanks again,

Welcome and thanks for following.

Yes, 991S MSRP's can range from approx $104K which is on the low end, to an average of around maybe $118K or so. We often see MSRP's much higher in the $120-130K range. Then you have the very high optioned ones in the $140-$160K range and up! A huge spread. Really need to get the build sheet to determine a good deal.

A very nice 991S model can be had in the $70-80K range these days!

Thanks! Back in 2014 I drove a C2 base and a C2S back-to-back (both 7mt) and while I definitely preferred the power on the S, the base was plenty for me as my first entry to P-car land!

Thank you for your suggestion regarding Paul Miller. They are about 2 hours away but I do see some pretty decent deals there at times. I will definitely keep my eye on them going forward.
