I really wish that there were objective evidence to demonstrate this. Maybe my definition of "very nice" differs (i think a $75K car should have heated seats, as a minimum). Or maybe my corner of the country is simply more expensive. But there are no CPO 991 C2S below $80k within 500 miles that don't throw a red flag upon closer inspection. And the difference between what $78k and $83k will buy is currently huge, for a 991.1S.
As always, caveat emptor. I'd really like to purchase what folks here would consider a "hot buy" - but I don't see it happening in SoCal with the current inventory trends (a trailing 3 month view of the 911 market from a serial sports car owner).
Hi Als991?, I'm with ya. It's a different market the one we live in, and further evidenced by those examples above. Launch vehicles, non-cpo, almost 30k miles on two of them, questionable interior colors... hec one is even out of Braman Florida (add another $2k-$3k to that one for transport). I'd keep an eye out for 2013 CPO private party sales where you're not paying the stealership mark-up but it will create a little more work on your end. Also, check out the classifieds here, and post your own "WTB" thread, they can yield good results.
Wow, it is so weird to see a car spec'ed EXACTLY like mine LOL. I have a 2012.5 911 S, Basalt black with platinum grey interior, sport design wheels, launch car, with EXACTLY the same options as this one - this is my car's identical twin! (And I have 18k miles on mine - nearly the same miles LOL, too!)
I bought mine 2 years ago, not CPO (had two years left on the factory warranty which has now expired) and have not regretted it for a moment. Love my car! With a good PPI, I would jump on that car if I was in the market for one...

Obie, you just can't help yourself can you?
You've been no friend of this thread, so why not keep out?? Go play in your copy cat threads you like to start somewhere. Yes readers, Obie is the official "pain in the a**" on RL. He's a very bitter person. Bought a used lemon 991S from a Los Angeles Porsche dealer, tried to sell it on RL with no luck, and traded it in for a 991 base model lease.
I have a proven record of posting legit and unbelievable cars. Many (too many to count) of which HAVE been bought by happy Rennlisters here.
Your advice and comments mean ZERO here. Please go heckle elsewhere.
Thank you for proving me wrong so quickly. I love/hate this thread!
Keep the search up! Odds are you probably won't find your used 991S in CA. Keep us posted on your search. Good luck.

Classifieds here and on 6Speed. There aren't many for sale by owner cars to choose from though. Most go back to dealers.

Here's some evidence.. 6 weeks ago I bought a '14 S w/15k miles and CPO from a dealer for less than 79k with a great build.

That being said, I found this C2S at Porsche of Miramar.
+1 on this. I was limiting my search to TX and couldn't find anything in my range and options I was looking for (searched 5 months). Expanded my search to neighboring states and found my car in the first month....

Was this at Porsche of Jackson? I almost bought this one I think...it sat for a while.
Yes, and yes... Probably why I got it for less than 79k. Why did you pass on it?
I lowballed them, they balked. I offered $75k when it was listed for $84k. They told me they were losing money already at $84k, then a week later it was dropped to $79k. I offered $75k again, no dice. =)
Good luck with that car at Kia. I called 3 times, emailed once over the past 2 weeks. The only person who got back to me was the QC follow up person asking if I was satisfied with my experience....definitely not I told them! Even then, nobody called me back!
