HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
Burning Brakes
I listened to lengthy podcasts between Matt Farah and Chris Harris and also between Matt Farah and Doug Demuro (both have auction sites now) and the one thing they all seem to agree on was that the surge in prices is a combination of ..
- lack of supply
- free money (60%-100%+ Stock market return over last 24 months)
- Fear of missing out (FOMO)
- You only live once (YOLO)
- All of the above in conjunction with friends/family getting sick (or worse) and people just realizing "tomorrow" or "right time" may never come
This will continue for the foreseeable future and hopefully will slowly subside , but we cant expect to quickly wake up one day and things are back to 2019 levels... that may never happen again

We've had good luck with our stocks for sure and saw nice gains.
Both of my parents are long-gone and enjoyed their lives to the fullest with no regrets, so YOLO definitely came into play for me.
If you have the means, enjoy life while you can. Waiting for the "right time" may be too late. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop to look around once a while, you could miss it."

This popped up on my feed recently:

Priced well for current market but very odd spec. PCCB’s but with 5 lugs. 18 way comfort seats but no Bose/keyless. And plastic dash… on a GTS!

Every time I think I understand Porsche, something comes along to disprove it. I “thought” a GTS had the 3.8. With a 3.0. I don’t see how this car is any different from a “standard” Carrera.

Different turbo’s, more boost, a lot of features optional on C2S that are standard on GTS. The 991.1 has the same 3.8 as the 991.1 C2S as well, but GTS has the “power kit” with different intake/plenum and some engine internals.

Was this in response to my post? If so, congrats! Post pics when you get it and welcome to the forum. I didn’t see this car personally, so couldn’t tell you anything about it, but a DME report on a pdk car is unnecessary.

My previous car is on Responsemotors.com
If anyone is in the market I can 100% vouch for this car, (although not exactly a "hot sale" item given their asking price)
Every service and maintenance is up to date (if not ahead of schedule), new tires clean Carfax and no paint work of any kind
2015 911 GTS PDK

Holy cow, that car is drop dead gorgeous! The only thing that would make it perfect is if it were a manual.
It's shots like that which always have me thinking about adding the side stripe/logo. Looks so good.

Is the market softening on 991.1s? I've noticed a number of 991.1 coupes on BAT not selling due to not hitting the reserve. As examples:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-s-36/#bidding
There were 2 others with nearly identical options and low miles but black color and neither were sold. Is it a trend..

I don't know if it is softening or not, but i have noticed the exact some thing. Will be interesting to see going forward.

I subscribe to Classic.com and just today only one out of 5 auctions found buyers while others didn't sell. Albeit most were GT3's going at over 200k but maybe the stock market pull back is having an impact.

I've thought the same thing. I've had alerts set up for new 991 listings plus checking bat daily I noticed a few months ago that alerts are starting to trigger with cars getting slightly cheaper. There are also a flood of used 991's so I feel like the market is saturated a bit.
What do I know though, I'm still trying to find a 991 with the elusive burmester package lmao
