I'm not looking to get flamed on this, but I have been causally searching for a GTS. I understand the market is a little nuts at this point, but is this considered a good deal. I have just come to the conclusion that I would rather wait than pay higher than the original MSRP for a 5 year old car. I would also think a GTS might not depreciate as much as others, but it will eventually return to a depreciating asset. If I am viewing this wrong, I will throw up the white flag. I feel this is going to end one day and anything that is not a true collectible is going to go down in value, maybe more than we expect.
This is a bit unrelated but the thing that really shocked me was this past weekend I saw an '18 718 GTS for $99k, the one I spec'd out to get built later this year was $106k, brand new. It's crazy to believe people are spending more on used cars instead of ordering new.

you can order new, but unless you’re willing to pay significant ADM, good luck on getting an allocation. Been waiting 6 months now…
car looks to be in great shape and very low miles. Only drawback (depending on what you're looking for) is it is very "lightly" optioned. None the less it looks to be a really nice car.
Seller is not too far away from me so I am likely to go check it out in the near future if it doesn't sell before then. Looks like he has a nice collection of other stuff too I wouldn't mind putting some eyes on !
You are looking at the AD after 50%+ of comments were deleted by Moderators for abusive and inappropriate responses. The seller is probably just taking the **** now given the horrible way he was treated when the AD first went up.
he is well within his rights to ask what he wants, commenters are NOT within their rights to post comments that are against the Terms of forum. For some reason, people find it extremely hard to follow clearly written rules of this board and ignore For Sale prices they disagree with, its been an ongoing issue. Its as if it gets under some people's skin when someone is asking high/very high Price.
I listened to lengthy podcasts between Matt Farah and Chris Harris and also between Matt Farah and Doug Demuro (both have auction sites now) and the one thing they all seem to agree on was that the surge in prices is a combination of ..
- lack of supply
- free money (60%-100%+ Stock market return over last 24 months)
- Fear of missing out (FOMO)
- You only live once (YOLO)
- All of the above in conjunction with friends/family getting sick (or worse) and people just realizing "tomorrow" or "right time" may never come
This will continue for the foreseeable future and hopefully will slowly subside , but we cant expect to quickly wake up one day and things are back to 2019 levels... that may never happen again
