If I were looking to spend around $90K, I'd be all over this.
2017 Miami Blue C2S, manual, slick roof, 15K miles, MSRP $120,420.

This same dealer has a CPO car for $98K. MSRP $119,805.
2017 GBM C2S, manual, slick roof, 13K miles.

The Miami Blue car has a bad Carfax - accident history. Seeing quite a few CPO cars lately with accident history which is a bit disconcerting.

To be fair though the MB car isn’t listed as CPO.

How can you tell the Miami Blue one has a bad Carfax? I just went thru it, and don't see it. Am I missing something?

I didn't see anything in that Carfax either. Google the VIN and it shows up on Renlist a few times. Could be helpful, but I didn't read through them.

FYI, we sold our 2017 C2S manual, $132k build with 12,000 miles private party a year ago for $89,500. Wholesale today is around $74k. There is a local guy who has a similar car, same mileage, but nicer build (18-ways, full leather) private party and he can't find a buyer at $80k. Given current economic uncertainty, I think these dealer prices are pretty optimistic and that there is plenty of room for negotiation.

I completely agree with your assessment. However, I tried to buy one of those cars, and they won’t accept anything below asking price. They told me they are very confident in their pricing. I’ve written them off, I’ll buy a car from someone else.

If you can, go private party. I always go that route and consign my current car. Private party cars are cheaper, I can typically get service records, and I would rather buy a car from a vetted enthusiast than ANY dealer that I don't have a personal relationship with. Many sellers love their cars and feel very strongly that it should go to a good home: dealers and salespeople just want to make a buck and have often checked their moral compass at the door. Not all, but many.

I am encountering the exact same thing. Cars are priced high and dealers not budging. There were a few very good deals made at the beginning of June, I just missed out on one, but since then slim pickings.
