Just saw this pop up. It's not a HFS, but a car to stay away from. Nick Murray's old car.

I generally like full leather: that being said, we have had a couple of "standard" interior 991 and 981 models, and I got used to them. The cars were perfect in every other way and it was a matter of not letting the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Leather is a "nice to have" option vs a "need to have" option. Never turn down a great car because of no leather.

That is a very personal decision as is every single option and is a must have option for many including myself. I did not have it in my 997.2 which I always regretted. Having pretty much every leather option in my Targa (including fuse box covers), I would never by a Porsche without full leather.

Only the person making the purchase can determine what options are must have, which ones nice to have, and which ones to not to have.

lol...you'd need to perform an exorcism on it before purchasing.

I'd stay away from that one. He's hard on his cars.

Anybody know what happens to those mfg buyback cars? I've never had any experience with one of any brand. Does the dealer try to fix it for resale, or does it go back to the manufacturer? It would seem it would be in a mfg's best interest to repair it and warranty it, or get it off the road for reputation sake.

Somehow these cars end up going back in circulation. It goes through a car laundering process , so to speak, and they come out clean and ready for the next victim. I thought the lemon law is supposed to prevent this from happening.

My problematic Mercedes was purchased by MBUSA and sold at auction to a dealer in the midwest that specializes in reselling vehicles that have a buyback history. The buybacks end up on dealer lots.

I love the blatant mis-representation of an aftermarket alarm as the issue. As if that wouldn't have been figured out by the Fairfield dealer in 1 day had he really installed one. On a serious note, with these sort of "recycled" cars does the manufacturer provide any sort of warranty?

So the guy who owned it had multiple problems with it? I'm guessing there is a thread on it somewhere. I'm just really surprised higher end manufacturers would not want to get a problem car off the streets for rep. reasons. Hell, part it out.

He is a youtuber that covered the problems he had with it in many of his videos.

I don't believe that there was an aftermarket component involved - that's why I brought it up; I don't believe that's the truth... He also had multiple electronics issues. One has to follow a few of his videos...
