Or the mahogany interior, the oddest option on that build.

...or the oddest LACK of option. Skipping full leather on a $142K build??

Unfortunately this car is at least two or thee bad build choices away from being highly appealing to my tastes, and even at the reduced price, not enticing.

Looking solely at % reduction or $ reduction can IMHO be misleading, especially if a car is optioned either with 1) expensive options that you don't particularly like (eg: mahogany trim, multi-function wheel, etc) or 2) expensive options that don't really hold their value on resale (eg: PCCB brakes).

I know not everyone agrees on what they love or what makes a particular car HOT, but I've now looked at enough 991's to know pretty much exactly what options/builds I like and what I don't and what I'd personally be wiling to pay for a given car... And as mentioned, that is really the real value of this thread.

Example: This car but in GT silver, black full leather, Sport Design steering wheel, and no freaking wood trim would definitely be HOT! (and sold)

Different strokes for different folks...I think the yachting blue and mahogany trim make the car far more interesting than boring black full leather.

More interesting sure, but a much more NARROW buyers pool. I mean, VERY narrow.

The GT Silver/Black comment above is spot on. This car would have been sold long ago. Much WIDER buyers pool.

That's the way things go

Default Finally!

Thank to this HFS thread and all the knowledge shared, I've gradually honed in on the model and configuration I really wanted for my 1st 911. It took awhile and several got away from me during the process but finally it's here! What do you guys think.. an HFS win?? I picked it up for $103.5k with 11K miles.

Big score and great price. Congrats! Where did you buy it from? Don't recall this one.

Thanks.. I bought it through West Palm Beach Jaguar/Mclaren. The original owner traded it in on a new Mclaren.

I think that the blue interior is the only place to put the wood trim. I like the contrast between the cold blue and the mushy mahogany. I would expect that the 991.2 Graphite Blue would work better than the 991.1 Yachting Blue.

Having said that, after trying out a lot of electric guitars in my youth-youth (guitar shop starting giving me lunch at some point) I can think of a lot of wood species and finishes that would actually fit a 911. Just a random species of Mahogany with a bulletproof class thickness layer of plastic over it is not actually that attractive.

It's too bad they made the door trim strips non-exchangeable, so there is no market for aftermarket artists.

That blue/blue car would look better with grey or black wheels.

For the year2012, if you see "The new 911" in the title, then it is a 991.

Price is fine. Some of us may be a bit picky on the 20K miles for $75+ but that seems to how the market is pricing the cars nowadays. It does have CPO.

Very nice. Carmine Red looks awesome in person. (I think it would photograph better with the glass roof closed...)

In addition, they even have pictures on the website which clearly shows it's a 991.1

It's not easy to confuse a 997.2 and 991.1
