HOT FOR SALE: Pick of the Week 991
I thought this was interesting.
From the Porsche May 2017 sales report
http://press.porsche.com/news/release.php?id=1030
"Porsche Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle sales in the U.S. were 1,568. Year-to-date CPO sales stand at 7,490, an 8.8 percent increase over the same period last year."
If the dealers know there's a high demand for CPO then for sure it will be reflected in their asking price. I'm sure the demand for CPO 991.1 vehicles will increase as more leases are returned to dealers.
Just an FYI...

Yeah, CPO sales have had huge increases % wise over new car sales for a couple years now at least.
Look at new 911 and 718 sales year over year. New sports car sales have been suffering since the 991.2 and 718's hit. The 718's have been a disappointment so far. All the more reasons why pre-owned sports car are more desirable. Get more for your $$$.

Reading the thread lately I wonder if it's time to redefine what is a truly HFS i.e. Can be over 100k? Is there a paradigm shift in pricing I wonder. I always thought .1s would hold their value long-term but didn't anticipate what we are seeing now. Selfishly I want to see more cars on HFS! Keep up the great work all.

Thanks for following.
We've been listing $100K+ GTS's already.
The nice cars will still be listed with no firm price line. We have to follow the market like we've always done. I'm always on the lookout for nice builds first and foremost. The cars will continue to be posted. Without listings we have ZERO here.
Price on ebay is $77,000, which might reflect that the lower price doesn't have CPO, but hard to say.

Those two things turned me off on the dealership so I just dropped it. Maybe he was just having a bad couple of days, but they sure didn't seem too eager to try and make something work. When a new relationship starts that way with a dealership, I just usually walk away.
I see a lot of enthusiastic buyers of 718 cars, with few exceptions they like the 718 over the 981 because of the more modern electronics, include Apple carpray, the auto-distance cruise control, lane change assist, LED lights etc.
A couple people like the 718 S for its speed/price, which is arguably good. If you don't add options, otherwise you make a $95,000 Boxster.
As we see now, those kinds of buyers do exist, but they don't seem to make critical mass compared to those who just want a nice sounding, nice driving sports car.
I will have to say that Porsche offers a lot of car for the price of a base 718 when I add a few options that have high value to me and are not offered on competing cars in that price range. However, I walked away from the 718 test drive finding the sound unacceptable. (there are a lot of 4-cylinder cars that sound good IMHO, but not that one)
I estimate that the new official offering of contrasting seat colors and contrasting stitching in the builder might push a couple more of the new buyers to strike, but I doubt it makes up for the losses. A new model selling so much less than the outgoing model in its last year is very bad news.

No pics, but this seems to be a pretty amazing price for a 991.1 C2S with a solid options list.

Not hot, but priced reasonably. More than $30,000 off at 5500 miles.
Manual c2 base coupe. Upgraded wheels, natural full leather with monotone same color leather trim strips.
The yellow-on-brown will look a bit better in person or in a context with reasonable white balance. Random dealer, warranty probably runs out early 2018.
Those yellow instruments are not nearly as bright as the outside racing yellow. They look pretty pleasing in person. Actually I always questioned whether you should coming those "racing yellow" instruments with "racing yellow" exterior since they are different enough shades of yellow to potentially bite. At least it skipped painted interior trim. I would change the seatbelts to black, though.
Car fax looks OK. No accident, single owner, but no maintenance noticed either.

Didn't have time to post properly. This is a base cab in black on full leather screaming red, where the price is reasonable given miles and age. Manual, 14-ways with premium plus. No driver's options.
Price on ebay is $77,000, which might reflect that the lower price doesn't have CPO, but hard to say.
ETA: now $75,000
