These prices are crazy! Last fall, I couldn't practically give away my 991 C2S with Aerokit cup. $125k build, pristine, 2013 w/11k miles, and I sold it for what, $72,500 after a ton of haggling? Why didn't I just keep the damn thing and sell it this spring?

Potter Stewart specifically. I don't know if he wrote the majority opinion, or simply a concurrence with the majority, but when I think of the Supreme Court, it is one of the first things that comes to mind! Very impressive to rank right up there with Dred Scott and Madison v. Marbury when we talk about the institution.

^^^ Thought so.
Anyhow... Maybe this thread is influencing dealers? I know that they also talk among themselves. Maybe they are testing how much the market is able to bear. Nothing lost if someone buys at the asking price, no?
I personally think that the current sweet spot is around $70-75K for a car with a MSRP of $120K+, with mileage below 20K and a CPO warranty. It is a matter of desirable options that seems to be an issue. As some said, if you want a PDK, better find one with SC.
Having driven mine for about 3 months, I find myself most of time liking the engine sound without the PSE on. There is a hint of the air-cooler engine sound that is missing when the PSE is on

I wasn't planning on buying my car until this Spring. But when I saw it last fall, it was almost exactly what I wanted and I scooped it up. Now I'm so glad that I did. I think I saved at least $5k if not more.
2013 C2S Cab
Original MSRP $135k
Miles - 29,750
Lots of goodies - 7MT, SC, PSE, Burmester, Full leather and more
CPO
Bought for $74k.
I know the higher miles contributed to the lower price, but I don't mind. It's a third car for me so I'll run out of CPO warranty long before miles.

That being said - I'd still take a bath at 85K with the 17K I've put into it - ha!

I not happy with the lack-of-SC bashing. Some of us drive automatic transmissions, but always shift manually. SC does other things - PASM suspension (which I'll avoid if I can), throttle map (stupid idea, I want the same map), throttle blib on some 911s. Another thing that I might want to have, but not to always be forced on me when I am in some mode or other. I don't think there was an "individual mode" in 991.1 cars that allowed us to cherry-pick.
It ruins the looks of the dash. The only reasonable dash placement was in the 981 cars, but they ruined it like for the 991 when they moved to the 718.
The G-force display might be useful (is that in 991.1 cars?).
OK OK I'll look for actual cars later. Must be something for sale this Friday...

So glad that I bought mine when I did and so glad that I accidentally found it on here. I still haven't seen another one for sale that I would want over mine (except for a Club Coupe but the prices they are asking are crazy $$$). I might be keeping it forever!

As far as options go, buy whatever car suits your needs. Obviously there many options, color selections, and throw them into combinations and you have 1,000,000+ possibilities on a build.
What's important to me, isn't to everyone obviously.
I pick and choose cars that have a "package deal" of build and price I think is appealing. Obviously my bias does show based on my personal opinions and taste. Overall, I seem to strike quite a few "I wants" from perspective buyers and lurkers. In the end, that's all that matters. For those that don't want to do dozens hours of homework, trust the picks I say jump on! (with your own inspections and PPI's of course)
The bigger picture benefit of HFS is the education potential buyers get about these cars and the current market where they can do their own searches and can make an educated and confident buy.
That's the real value HFS offers in my opinion
We have MANY guys here who have become very knowledgeable and experts in this arena by following long enough here. You also have to stay up to date here for that "continuing education". Don't miss a day!! You never know what you may miss

I've been following this thread since the beginning. Many thanks to STG and all the contributors. Last few months seriously looking for next 991. 2015 or 2016 S manual only. Options limited but might have found Certified one that comes close to checking all my boxes. Looks like it came from Atlanta Driving Experience. Been searching for info on these cars but my search skills are lacking. Should I run the other direction? If not, what kind of discount is appropriate?

I have not been a fan of these cars. No break in and driven HARD for like 7K track miles. That's me.
PCNA then auctions them off to dealers. Porsche West Broward seems to be one that buys a lot of these.
By the way, thanks for following too!
