Timing seems off but I received a letter in September for 2 recalls on my 991.1S w sport chrono. First was to install an extra heat shield over the center muffler as apparently some cars have experienced a fire. Second was emissions related. Think it was software only but can’t be sure as I didn’t ask too many questions about. Work as quick, about 3/4 day at the dealer.

Both active engine mounts replaced under warranty on my 14 991/50th in 2017. No issues since.

Followed up with a Porsche dealer in CA given I'm in the market for one of these cars and was told there is a stop sale mandate in effect for the 991.1 sport chrono cars (they had to pull that respective inventory). What was relayed was that information from Porsche was somewhat limited but is smog related (not mechanical) and timing for a resolution is uncertain at this point. Assuming this would only impact Porsche dealers, but curious to hear any other feedback from others.

If it is a recall checking tool, it will not show any "campaigns". That tool only shows recalls. There is a difference between service campaigns and recalls.

This is several months old, but is relevant to the topic for anyone that has not previously read about his.

I heard back from my dealer. It's pretty sketchy. It is not a safety recall or even a service campaign like we saw with the recent heat shield thing.
It is a "Quality Assurance Hold" for certain used vehicles equipped with the Sport Chrono Package. All the dealer bulletin says is that Porsche is investigating emission performance of certain specific model year vehicles equipped with the Sport Chrono Package. While the investigation continues and out of an abundance of caution, Porsche is requesting that affected vehicles in Dealer's inventories be placed on a Quality Assurance hold until further notice. 2012 through 2016 911s with Sport Chrono are listed, as are certain Cayennes, Panameras and 981s with the Sport Chrono Packag . Porsche is working to develop and interim solution and will follow up with additional instructions as soon as they are available. Dealers are told not to sell, lease rent or loan any of the affected vehicles in the meantime.
