thanks!
Should be fine. I ended up purchasing a used V3 from someone with a 991.2 turbo turbo and installed it on my 991.1 S without issue.

I have a 2014 911 Turbo S Coupe. All stock. Dealer has inspected suspension and shocks and all are said to be fine. Car has 49k miles and is in amazing shape. I've had a V3 DSC for several months.

Where I live (NC) the bridges tend to launch my car upward in Normal mode, Sport somewhat less. I like that I don't get a wack sound anymore but the boat feel just doesn't seem right. Granted my previous 911 was a 17 C2S with SPASM. I would think there is a way to mute the entry onto the bridge without so much upward thrust. Of course then the car comes down hard onto the bridge and has to rebound from that. Maybe my shocks are getting tired but I would be surprised. And suggestions? I don't mind trying other maps.

Thank you.

The DSC V3 controller is generation-specific for Porsche cars.
A DSC V3 991.1 controller is compatible for all 991.1 models and 981 models.
A DSC V3 991.2 controller is compatible for all 991.2 models and 718 models.
The controller shouldn't be cross fitted to a different generation car because the comm data is different.
In you case, 991.2 to 718 is fine.

I have a V2 on my 991.1 with B16's, I am curious if anyone else upgraded their v2 to v3 and if they noticed improvements?

As per the previous post, the DSC controller is vehicle generation specific:
A DSC V3 991.1 controller is compatible for all 991.1 models and 981 models.
A DSC V3 991.2 controller is compatible for all 991.2 models and 718 models.
The controller shouldn't be cross fitted to a different generation car because the comm data is different.
Therefore a 991.2 controller should be installed in a 991.1 vehicle, and vise versa.
While you may not be getting any fault codes, and while it may still be an improvement over the stock controller, by crossing the generation from controller to vehicle the input to output is not as intended because of the difference comm data.

The "boat feel" you are referencing to is likely in the function of the DSC controller's G Comfort Parameter, which keeps the damping soft(in comfort zone) until the a G-force movement occurs that exceeds the threshold parameters, which then DSC will triggers out of the comfort zone. The parameters for the comfort zone is adjustable by the user via DSC Tuner software. Some drivers prefer to stay in the comfort zone longer, while others prefer to trigger out of the comfort zone with less activity.

Did you buy the DSC new? I am asking in case it wasn't new, the previous user may have had the Carrera calibration file in it instead of the Turbo file(the Carrera file is softer than the Turbo file), or the previous user may have adjusted the G Comfort Parameter differently. You could try the GT3RS/GT2RS calibration file, this file is firmer than the Turbo file.

Default Lifting front wheel

4.0 at Track

With the new 100nm springs installed, the car was far more track focused . I regained a lot of the lost drive out of the corner. Picking up a front wheel is much nicer than a rear one out of the corner. 🤣

Still haven’t received the new DSC Controller.

its missed the last two track weekends.

Good thing I saved time by ordering a 2nd one. Would have missed all the events with no car. At least i could compete with bouncy Tractive.

It was shipped FedEX International Priority over a week ago. Sorry FedEX cut the the number of flights from US to Australia in the middle for a global pandemic...

The tracking said it arrived at TTSuspension on Monday at 10am. Its now Thursday. When I ordered the springs from them a couple of weeks ago, they took a day and a half to get here.

Can you at least tell me if it was preloaded with the 100/150 map, or will I have to do that next month when it finally arrives.

Feedback from the track days with new spring rate. At first the car was very unsteady over the bumps. I didn't like it much. It was pretty scary. The car seemed unsure how to handle bumps.

But turning was next level. The car turned like never before. The car gripped like never before. It has restored lost drive. A photographer caught a front wheel in the air on a turn. That would explain the return of drive.

So its just going over bumps. At first it felt bouncy. I don't know if that was because the springs needed to break in? Second session was better. However the dampening still feels a little confused over bumps. But it certainly is a huge improvement turning and the car is no longer loose. The car never stepped out once the entire day. It usually does that almost every corner. Hahaha.

Just need to sort the bounciness over bumps. It has compromised the street ride considerably as well. But hopefully the new map will sort that a little. I am ok that the ride is much firmer. I understand its a compromise for the added performance at the track.

Yes, your new DSC V3 controller has the 100/150 calibration file in it. I wrote your name and 100/150 on the side of the controller.

It’s here, it’s in and it is sensational.

I love it. Thank you so much Tom. You are the man.

How on earth can the stiffer springs, on the track setting feel more comfortable than the old street setting with softer springs?

I now prefer the track setting on the street. Its like you have now taught the car how to deal with bumps.

in fact it feels so good on the street, I’m concerned it won’t be good on the track. 🤣

However i have already been on the track with the new spring rate, and even with the screwed up dampening, it was epic.

It’s Witch craft I tell you. 🤣

I am absolutely loving my car again.

I was concerned the heavy front spring rate would ruin the ride. With the new map, its seriously better than ever.

It has exceeded all expectations. I was deliberately swerving to hit bumps on the way home. 🤣. I can’t wait to hit the track Wed and Thursday . Turn 1 is a very fast sweeper with a nasty bump. The car used to step out if you took it at 170km. I am interested to see how it handles that bump now.

Even speed bumps in my underground garage are now smoothed out.

i am truely blown away. It’s awesome.

A massive difference. Cheers

A quick update. The new map is sensational on the track and the street.

The car is no longer loose. It does everything better.

Just a quick question. The GT3-RS is 100/160.
We are 100/150. Tom, did you choose 150 over 160 because we don’t have a massive rear wing? Or do you feel 150 is better balanced with 100?

I ask as i may do a big wing in the future and its no problem to swap out the rear springs for 160 then.

Just curious if you feel 100/150 is better.

I love it. It makes we want to drive the car more.
