It's an unmolested 2000 Z3 2.8 with 40K miles... It's no turbo but IMHO they are due for a resurgence. It's the epitome of a weekend roadster. And to me it makes more sense then the M-Roadster since its contemporary Turbo will annihilate either one from a pure performance perspective... Just a great looking car with a traditional BMW in-line six, a great gearbox, and "lively" chassis. $8K buys you a driver, $14K a pristine one.

Some years ago I almost bought the M version in coupe form, loved the styling, problem was that I was a little too big.
I fit in the convertible much better. Agree with you on the erformance aspect, but that aside, they are lovely to drive.
Exactly... The M roadster/coupe are the 'coveted' expensive versions, but while a 19 year old 996 Turbo can kind of hang with todays supercars, the twenty year old M's don't have a chance. So just enjoy the driving experience of the 2.8 and accept that 200 HP (or the whopping 240 on the M version) just makes for a lovely driver.
Upgraded to the Musicar tweeters. I was kind of surprised they got the Yachting Blue Burmester speaker grilles that fast. The last interior piece in that color I ordered before then is not expected until July.
Do you guys know why some black 991 turbo S have the headlights circled in black paint while some dont? just on this page alone there is this one with the painted headlights and another one without.
I was wondering
It's pretty subtle but I like the way they look and imagine they keep things from getting kicked up on the flanks.
Before After I think the .2 RS sills are much bigger but these look pretty good to me and are way cheaper.
This one hasnt, for exemple, compared with my previous post
I just added some additional deviated stitching to the interior of my 991.2 TTS (gt silver, black interior with yellow deviated stitching). I'm very happy with how it turned out. From the factory, my car came with the following yellow deviated stitching options:
24981 Seat (front and rear)
24901 Dashboard
24902 Upper door panel
24905 Rear side panel
24906 Center console lid
26741 Center door panel
26751 Armrest
26761 Door handle
90027 Steering column casing
90043 Sports seats plus backrest shell
It also came with yellow seat belts and yellow chrono.
I worked with Frank at Exclusive Option to add some important pieces. He was super helpful and their products are as good or better than from the factory imo. Most important for me was the steering wheel. In addition to the deviated stitching, I was also able to do two things that you can't get from the factory: 1) 12 o'clock marker and 2) thicker wheel. IIRC, a thicker wheel was an option on my 997.2 TT, but not with the 991.2. The stock wheel always felt a bit thin to me. The new wheel from Exclusive Option is amazing. Visually, you can slightly tell its thicker, and you might not even notice if you didn't know. But importantly, it feels so much better. With this project I really set out to add more deviated stitching, which turned out great, but I am most pleased and surprisingly so, with the thicker steering wheel.
In addition to the wheel, I also added the extended deviated stitching package, which includes the dash end caps (2x), defroster (2x), speaker grills (2x) and upper center dash (where the chrono and speaker are). All of that is doable from the factory, but the one nice addition Frank does is deviated stitching around the hood of the chrono (see picture). Finally, I also added the pieces underneath the door handle (see photo), another item you can't get from the factory, and really completes the door.
I am very happy with the way it turned out, and Frank was great to work with. Their website it subpar, I think under construction, but they actively post on IG (exclusiveoption) where you can see a bunch of their work.

That looks nice - did you get a new wheel, or have it done by someone? I have similar on my 996 wheel, it's a good look.

You can either 1) send them your wheel and they will redo the leather (and make thicker if you want), or 2) you can give them a deposit, they will get a wheel, do the work requested work, send it to you, and you send them your old one back and they give you back your deposit. Very easy.
