And you sure can get it done by a dealer. They are always seeking fat service bills.

Will insurance pay if someone gets injured? That's a different matter.

Personally, as an automotive engineer, if I supervise the work and it's done by a trustworthy shop, I am fine with it.

If you are not, that's up to you!
Absolutely guarantee you will not get that done by a Porsche dealer.

I cannot even get my dealer to fit the same tires as a Turbo S to my GT3 for wet weather because of concerns about liability in the case I put the car into a wall and they are blamed for fitting non-approved tires. I had to go to a regular tire shop to get it done.

There was a 997.1 GT3 that Porsche Reading had converted for a customer when new.

Maybe you did. But you lost all credibility when you provided a link to a different generation vehicle to support your argument.

Well I got assured a summer delivery and I just joined the list... while some have been waiting for 2 years.
Depends how you ask and whom you know...

The brackets that are missing on the 991 can be purchased from PET or even fabricated.

Anything can be done, and it can be made just as good, if not better than, stock.

I'll show you pictures of mine when it's done

No one has done it yet for the 991, it appears. Doesn't mean it can't be done.

I provided a link from the previous gen. Same basic idea, and closest thing we have to go on.
Don't see your point, sorry.

Cool. And when you do, provide the dealer invoice for the work, too!

Oh, but I guess you're in the US so you could always sue right?

just jointed the waiting list and already have an assured summer delivery, very nice! A lot of people who placed a deposit don't even get a call from their dealerships, bummer.

Actually I'm in Canada most of the time, in the 416, like you it seems.

The car was designed with rear seats!
It's a 991 911. It's not even the RS. The engine and suspension are different, but the interior is the same car guys!!

Exactly. But that is not what you originally asserted.

Let's get this back on topic.

I would love to see this in person. Please do let me know when you get your allocation.
So you've got a US allocation but live in Canada most of the time?

As an automotive mechanical engineer, I see no reason why it cannot be done.

I will send pictures when my car gets done.

It's not that big of a deal, the mounting points are all there. You get the OEM parts, and they bolt/snap in.

with the backpedaling while trying to save face, ignoring a previous statement that was argued to no end. I like interviewing self-entitled guys like that that cannot and will not admit they don't know **** about what they are talking about and try to cover up with unrelated, non-consequential data they found surfing the internet on their phone. They even attempt to do so during the interview process and thereby continuing to show their respect.
Love the fact that he claims to be an automotive engineer and skips the fact that automotive technology and aftermarket capabilities changed with model updates. As an automotive engineer he should be at the forefront of all of those changes unless his position is at the bottom of the totem pole.
