Second Thoughts
My contact confirmed there will be rear seats in the Touring...
Side note: At the showroom yesterday, my dealer showed me a newly arrived 991.2 GT3 in the basement...
I gotta say, that wing looks mighty special!!
I am having serious second thoughts on sticking with the wing... It gives the beast personality!
Might as well wait for the launch of the Touring Pack in September, but the wing is in fact an amazing attribute!

As we approach the September reveal, I thought it might be useful to collect a few of these (ok so I didnt have much on today ).
Happy to update if/when more are contributed.
80s - "Touring package is in europe no new term for the gt3, it has always meant sofas without cage."
Brindle10 - "As far as back seats and wing delete, my opinion, " It ain't never gonna' happen"
C. J. Ichiban - "Touring package = comfort seats"
C. J. Ichiban - "That could be the 2020 911 C2S E Hybrid for all we know. Or it could be a Carrera Super- basically a sofa seat lower priced 911R. Or it could be a GTS with X50 power kit and Sport Design bumper."
C. J. Ichiban - "I Still think touring package / wing delete is a crock but hey we never know."
C. J. Ichiban - "992 road mule"
C. J. Ichiban - "I remember when the cleaning lady was for sure announcing it tomorrow about 8 weeks ago. Still think it's not real."
C. J. Ichiban - "sporto classico"
JasonAndreas - "Take a look at the PET catalog for any previous 964/993/996/997 GT3 and/or RS (going back to 1989) and search for M002/I002 (touring) and M003/I003 (clubsport). Porsche has been remarkably consistent with what they include/exclude between the normal, touring and clubsport editions. I don't see why they would change their playbook for this go-round?"
Neanicu - "I'm still waiting to eat my humble pie. LOL"
Neanicu - "The only way I'll eat my humble pie is if this car will be advertised as a 991.2 GT3 TOURING PKG...so basically a GT3 without the wing."
UsctrojanGT3 - "For all you guys wanting a touring GT3...buy yourself a GTS and get a tune for it because GT3s are meant to have a wing and no back seats."
qbix - "God must have left all of you asking for TP. Go buy GTS."
Dr.Bill - "I think it might actually be real! I saw a summary of a 'Vanity Fair' article describing the ‘touring package’. I think it was also repeated in ‘Better Homes & Gardens’, so it must be true"
Larry Cable - "+1 ... betcha its the "new" (991) Sports Classic ... BTW as I recall the RoW GT3s (996 and probably 997 too) that were *not* clubsport pkg optioned were referred to as "touring" optioned were they not?"
Larry Cable - "IMO anything that subtracts more than one from the total production of .2 GT3's as god intended them to be (winged) and thus impacts my chances of getting an allocation, is a f**k**g abomination... get a GTS if you want back seats and no wing!"
Larry Cable - "+1! and I will say it again; previously in markets where clubsport pkg was an option, cars that did not spec "clubsport" were "touring" option cars... YMMV"
Larry Cable - "correct, and since the original release of the "clubsport package" in RoW, all cars w/o "clubsport" have been referred to as "touring" ..."
Est - "For me the GT3 without the wing is not a GT3 anymore!"
Seranad - "my money is ona "sports classic", special car similar to the 50th anniverary edition maybe why? because it has the silver frame around the windows seen ont he 50th anniversary edition or other more stylish and less GT oriented cars also my sources still claim no touring package will come hence my conclusion, its another limited special edition car i rest my case :-)"

If not just a package option ala clubsport etc.. my (revised new) money is on:
911 Super Carerra, 40 year anniversary model of the original 1978 911 SC.
Was potentially the last model for the 911, last of the air cooled range until this model recovered its sales and the 911 lived on...

So in the final analysis less than 30 days from the Frankfurt show absolutely nothing factual and confirmed is known despite hundreds of postings, a half dozen photos, and purported insider information.

By definition nothing is factual or confirmed until Porsche themselves confirm it. Hearsay, deduction, and cleaning lady info is what keeps us interested until we get the facts.
