But then again, he might not find he can even get those cars anymore, because pricing below the market clearing price will create a supply/demand imbalance.
He's not alone. I'm 100% with Joe.
Ask anyone I bought sold from and too.
I don't negotiate. Please make cars configurable, his buy now run my Amex and 2 months later my car shows up.

I've been told by my SA I should get one at MSRP and I have a signed buyers agreement that states a 2018 GT3 at MSRP and have a V070 order demand in the system. I'll be pretty upset if they try to charge a markup at this point, but if they don't get enough allocations and my number never comes up I'll gladly move on. This will be the most expensive car I've purchased and my first GT car. I'm really hoping it happens, but if for some reason it doesn't my wife gave me the go ahead to pickup a 997.2 GT3RS which has been my dream for many years. There are too many nice cars in this price range to pay a huge markup on the .2 GT3.

There are for sure a lot of allocations out there because I have been offered 3 in the last 24hrs with overages without even asking for it.

Champion called you, huh?

Yeah, I bet there are a lot of dealers dialing for dollars seeing how much over they can get from anyone on their list. Paying $30k-$50k+ over for a GT3 is just stupid, especially when you can pick up a .1GT3RS or a 997.2GT3RS for that kind of money.

I wanted to inform you that we have three available allocations for the new GT3. To secure one of the three allocations we are accepting $60,000 over the sticker price in order to get the allocation you want of the three available.

***Manual Transmission available only on the October and December slots***
1 July Build - ETA September/October 2017
1 October Build - ETA December 2017 / January 2018
1 December Build - ETA February 2018 / March 2018

... 60k over ... not happening for me. ;-)

They stopped making manuals for a reason two year run 7000 GT3's I just don't get the enthusiasm as Porsche tweaks a GT no offense but 99.9% of owners are never going to know the tweaks even exist - if everyone would chill dealers would be begging for your business as would Porsche it's OK to try another brand.

I agree, I told them to contact me if they have allocation for me on MSRP. I am not paying over sticker ;-) and if no one would .. we wouldnt have the issue but there are clearly people who really pay 60k over ^^

I spoke to Loeber Motors in Chicago and asked me for only... $20K, and the reason for the markup is "Its not fair to the dealership not to get a piece of the action when the buyer will get the car and flip it for $50K-100K"
My response "good luck, I will call the other dealers and you just lost all my business"

At least they are honest and you know what I have zero problem with any of this. Why should some douchebag get a car at MSRP, realize it didn't have back seats and flip it yet the dealer can't. At least they have brick and mortar to pay for and free drinks. If people are going to pay over MSRP I would rather the dealer make the money than some individual. Good for that dealer.

What they should do is make a contract with the buyer that if the buyer wants to sell it within 2 years of purchase, they must sell it back to the dealer for the original price paid. Problem solved.

And who told you guys that I'm planning to sell my GT3 after I buy it at MSRP??
The dealer is thinking short-term, I have been buying cars from both their dealerships (Porsche and Mercedes) and almost every time I have been trading them for new ones to them...
The dealer knows me for some 10 plus years and I did buy from them in the past a 997.1 GT3 and a 997.2 GT3RS (both in MSRP), which I still have and not intending to sell anytime soon. For them to pull this move on me, it was a bad one and I will change dealerships.
Obviously some people in here don't know what "customer service" and "loyalty" means or what those two mean for a long term business relationship...

All the harsh words about the dealers and now individuals start the same or worse behavior. Last time I checked dealers have a huge overhead nut every month and individuals have a few hours in phone time. I guess a car like this brings out the best and worst for many.
