I posted on another thread but I ordered the new artura. I’m very excited to try the new car out. I have never owned one. I would’ve like to pick up a 720s but I missed the boat on that one. My sa believes that the car will be on the same level power wise as the 720. I can only hope so. Very excited to see the car in the paint!

I recently inquired on new 720s Spider, and yes they are still taking orders. And, voilà, you can get an allocation. No fuss no muss. About 6-8 month lead time to delivery. I was also told by dealer that they believe 2022 is last year for 720s. Just what I heard.

That sounds about right. In fairness they pretty much have to give all buyers an allocation because they really only make specialty cars, and no SUV’s to pawn on you. The price point pulls all the games out unless you’re looking for a 765LT all spoken for and some being flipped in secondary market 699k.

^we've had a few 675LTs over the years and they always seem to have a really hard time selling.

Well... after a 911.1 GT3 Clubsport and a 991.2 GT3 RS weissach... and their really really good performance on track ( and road ) , I got really interested by the good reviews of the Mclarens and decided to get a track focused 620R
My favourite Mclaren was the 675LT , but I tought that I d prefer the most track focused version for my use, and that there could be some less noticeable differences that would be more track focused on the 620R and as it s more modern they could have solved some little problems of previous versions.
My first impressions...
I knew already that I was not going to like the integrated electronics of the Mclaren and the way they work... I would really prefer a car with just aircon and not much else , but at least on modern porsches everything is well made and working perfectly...
It s almost incredible how much unnecessary ( especially on a sports car ) things are fitted on the Mclaren ( It s like if you would carry a small hidden gaming pc in your car ) , and how NOT well they seem to work together...
You can deactivate most of them on the settings , but when you open the car it makes all sort of buzzing electronic noises from headlighs , center lock, relays , etc...
Windows going down instead of up when closing the doors randomly , aircon " calibrating " , settings not saved ,
then there are those " keyfob not detected" problems ... I can imagine someone shutting down the car for a few seconds on the side of the road in town , and then not being able to start the car until it decides to detect the keyfob again maybe even blocking some other parked car... or some owner going to a very fancy restaurant in elegant suit and after the dinner just because of a low keyfob battery lay down on the floor near to the car in front of the restaurant with everyone looking while figuring out how to use the spare key lock located under the car
The car of course looks really really nice especially with carbon everywhere , the carbon seats and exposed carbon frame.
The first thing you notice is the rigidity of the carbon chassis and a relative sensation of lightness for a GT car. The R53 mechanically adjustable coilovers issued from the 570s GT4 race car are stiff , but they really do a perfect work and are somehow less bouncy compared to the 991.2 RS suspension .
The steering feel is also at least as good as the 991.2 RS the gearbox is perfect in manual mode ( but less enjoyable in automatic than a Porsche PDK )
On track for the moment I would say that on a twisty track is not quicker than a GT3 RS with the same tyres , I was a second slower , but the track conditions were not perfect.
I d say they could make similar lap times, but the 620R requires more precision or you ll lose time... And of course it does not have the mechanical grip of the 265/325 of the RS.
BTW the Mclaren forums apart from a very few users are a complete joke compared to Rennlist

Took the 675LT out for a 100 mile ride yesterday, and I’m sitting on 3 years which is my longest ownership of any sports car. The more I drive the darn thing very hard not to grab the keys. Also had my annual service, and speaking with my tech who’s a friend said the 675LT is the most trouble free car he works on, and of all the Mclaren’s it’s his favorite due to the rawness. He gave me a good history lesson it’s the only Mclaren that shares the same engine as the P1, and after the 675LT they reduced the number of titanium parts post 675 in the engines as a cost reduction. 675LT will have a interesting story, and the dive I still find insanity at best. Still loving 99 of 500.
This thing puts out over 1000k HP owner parks his Senna and P1 GT3 at the dealer. Fun waiting for service at the dealer, also he had a cool Speedtail in person it’s a mechanical marvel.

Took out the 675LT on drive with my Porsche buddies GT3RS not pictured and the GT3T ahead through the GA mountains through Hiawasse GA amazing roads. First time I took out the 675LT on these road honestly too much power, and the GT3’s excel in the twistiest the 675LT traction control light stayed engaged little error for screw up. Fun ride for close to 300 miles RT was a blast, always tough to climb back to the the Speedster as it feels under powered, but with the open top it’s amazing and all good.
