Has the same engine as the P1, and actually more titanium in the engine as it was reworked for performance. Think there’s less than 12 for sale in the US, and the good specs go fast. I had to get my emissions checked so I stopped by the MAC dealer to shoot the crap with some of the techs as the car didn’t pass? He took the car and drove it to get it up to temp, and said the P1 and 675LT needed to get the temps up for all the sensors to read, I was like ummmm Ok? He took the car and got the inspection without me asking while I waited in the show room, and said call me directly if you have any problems. I tell this story as I was just looking for a quick answer, and they took the car and said hang out here took and solved it. Could have been like we’re crazy busy, and he left by saying you have a bad *** car don’t sell it.

He was a Porsche tech, and 50% of them came from Porsche so I felt good about that. A good dealer is key as I have heard horrible stories, but I have zero intentions on selling my 675LT it’s that good to me.
Thanks for the response. Rennlist really has the best auto enthusiasts. Members on most other forums just hype up their own brand. I do have a really good shop locally that specializes is McLaren service and maintenance.

Any thoughts on 675LT vs RWD Huracan EVO?

Unfortunately, never driven the EVO, but rode in a Performante which I think is the best Lambo for a drivers car what Ive seen/riding shotgun. Several owners on the board have owned a Huracan .......

Since I got my 720S, I can’t stop driving it! ~1050 miles in 13 days (all fun drives). The car is amazing!

Steering: so glad McLaren stayed with a hydraulic system. The feel is just one of the best.
Brakes: as you likely know, Porsche has incredible brakes. I’m very impressed by the brakes on the 720S. I think the air brake helps as the high speed stability is confidence inspiring.
Chassis: a masterpiece! The rigidity of the carbon tub + lightweight + the comfort suspension just works great.
Engine: I don’t know why there’s not more praise of this V8. It likes to rev, sounds pretty good, and responsive. Sure, not quite the “practically no turbo lag” of the 488 but I like keeping the rpm up and have not noticed lag.
Transmission: it shifts very quick and hard in track mode which is mostly what I prefer. I thought I would want an old school manual but I don’t think it’d work well for something so powerful and light. I can understand why there’s no more manual for the GT2RS.

Straight line acceleration is also quite impressive. I think McLaren ought to warn potential owners! This 720S can get away from you real quick if you don’t respect the power.

I’m looking forward to the 765LT but would be happy to have a 720S as a keeper too. I think the 765LT would be a bit on the “too much” side (so just right when you’re after that sort of experience).

Indeed, the Performante is the best of the Huracan breed. However, because the production run was short, good examples are hard to find, the pricing is at a premium. I have had mine for almost 3.5 years and I love as much today as the day I got it. The part I enjoy most, is that you don’t have break the law in order to make the car feel alive. I can go 45-55 mph and still have a blast. The wail of the high revving NA V10 bring me intense joy and pleasure.

The 765LT might well be “too much” for many people. I took delivery of mine last week, and drove it a scant 1.9 miles to the PPF shop and was astonished by its rawness. The car is absolutely bananas. Race car for the road is an overused expression, but it just might be accurate when describing the 765LT. It’s rough riding, noisy, looks the part, and, as everyone knows by now, shockingly fast. I love it, but I won’t be surprised if some (perhaps many?) end up growing tired of it’s unapologetic raw nature.

IMO the 720S is the best all-around supercar on the market today. Nothing else touches the breadth of its performance envelope, to me it's the game-changing car of the last 10 years. But I repeat myself.

Beautiful 765LT. Congrats!

Yes, I think the 765LT is going to be intense. If it fits with what one is looking for, probably doesn’t get any better. For me, it’s intended as the most intense car I have that I go for a drive when I want the extreme experience. I look forward to experiencing it first hand.

I don’t know why I have been hiding under a rock! I’ve missed out on a few years of 720S enjoyment. Oh well, better late than never.

^That's funny...hiding under a rock. I think we've known how great they are but have been concerned about depreciation.

Another important fact is the 720s is gorgeous. I am on vacation but when I return I am planning on trading my R8V10 plus in and getting a 720s.

Thanks for your comments and perspective.

Just got the weight of my 2020 720S coupe with 2 to 3 gallons away from full tank of gas (car is empty otherwise): 3221 lbs.

It makes me appreciate the fantastic job Porsche has done on the 911 R. Mine weighs 3147 with a full extended tank!

If anything, I would like a bigger fuel tank for the 720S, I’m constantly at the gas station. Probably going to be worse with the 765 LT.

yeah, same with my 675LT but I stay in sport mode and the V8 swallows gas (: Not sure if you’ve driven a 675LT it’s damn near no insulation you hear everything radio is useless really .....;I’m sure that’s how they got to sub 2900lbs.

Well of course the 720S is not McLaren's lightweight model, it's equipped more like the Turbo, so that would be the better comparison. 765LT would be the more appropriate 911R equivalent, and Brooks at DragTimes weighed his (which does not have all the high-cost lightweight options) at 3019 with a light gas load. A near-full tank of gas would add about 90 lbs.
