I read the article and was surprised by this as it's the same as the 720. I guess they didn't use it when they tested the 720. I usually adjust the VDC to about 3 or 4 bars on the screen and found this worked best for me when I was tracking my 720 at Road Atlanta. I don't know much about the traction in the Trofeos on the LT, but I wonder if they are as sticky as the MPSC2Rs that were on the 2RS?
Nevertheless, I don't know how many laps a pro has to have around VIR to ring out every fraction of a second on the 765LT. I can't even imagine what it felt like.
2Rs are faster than Trofeos by all accounts. Peak grip falls off rather quickly but when they are on they are grippier than any other street legal tire. Your point about number of laps is very valid imo, the straight line speed of the LT combined with its relatively undersized tires tells me this is not an easy car to extract max performance from. Put a pro in the car for an hour and the times would drop by several seconds I would bet.
I may have to drive the 765LT one day, I was invited by McLaren to meet Daniel Ricciardo zoom event. He was asked what’s the scariest road car he’s ever driven he said it was the 765LT it’s that fast, and being a F1 driver it’s a different scary. Today was his first day at Mclaren very good kid, and it was a non corporate media event just shooting the sh%t with him a Zac Brown.

yes he said Monaco is his fav track and place to be ........I have a few friends in AUS that’s his home he has a farm there. F1 will be in Austin TX this year I’m there.
