Anyone interested in the Artura? I have an appt this Saturday at my dealer to take a look at the one they have there. Replacing my car this summer and thinking of either the Artura, a 2020 GT (brand new) or a 2019 lightly specc'd 720s (brand new). All available at my dealer and priced similarly. I daily the McLaren from May - November so the GT probaby makes the most sense practically.

To be transparent - I sold my GT3 and switched to a turbo, DCT 570S and haven't looked back once whether on the track or street.
I check prices on 650S daily! I want it as my next car, but need the price to go down just a little bit more. I don't care what McLaren did to get such a depriciation on such a great car, but as long as it allows me to get a decent exotic car at (somewhat) normal price - I'm good with it

Was it a press or pre-production car? Or was it an already sold owner's car?

It was a pre production car that had been loaned to the dealer by McLaren for show only.

Interesting, I would've thought all the Elvas were pre-sold. Bayareaandy (IG) seemed to to be saying that it was a press car or something. I don't know why McLaren PR would get their panties in a wad over a dealer inventory car.

Not even close to pre-sold.

Ruh roh. I know they cut their initial production targets, are dealers now scrounging their contact lists to cajole people into picking up an Elva? Maybe this will convince McLaren to slow down their Ultimate Series product cadence a weeeee bit.

McLaren cut the Elva production target to 149, they are all pre-sold and have been for a while now. McLaren has also indicated that the next Ultimate Series car will not happen until 2025.

They announced the cut from 399 to 249 last spring and then quietly cut to 149 later on, right?

I don’t understand why they had/have a press car in LA if they’re all sold. Basem Wasef, Jonny Lieberman, and Matt Farah (among others) drove it a few months ago.

Yes on the Elva production cuts.

On the press car, I believe its actually a pre-production car that they are allowing a few journalists and depositors to drive.
