Question when you say CPO I don’t follow, the original factory warranty expired. Sounds like your buying from a dealer, and if so they will ensure the car in clean and add the one year factory warranty? If so anytime you buy a warranty they want to verify the car basically has no expensive pre-existing condition (like health care) (: ....... show us a pic man.

I have CPO car - and the extended warranty is from McLaren (manufacturer) and not the dealership. So if something goes wrong, manufacturer and dealer also want to replace vs repair which is excellent.

You can extend warranty for up to 10 years from model year I believe - so my 2016 can be extended to 2026.

If a car you are looking at doesn't currently have CPO, (warranty has burned out), for it to be eligible it will have to be checked to ensure it's in or brought to excellent condition prior to extending warranty.

In the past Mclaren would also prorate the warranty if you sold or traded it in and get a refund. Ask them about that if you get the 2 year warranty.

the prices of Mclaren warrant does increase per year.

Just an FYI Lambo’s 2 yr extension from(Lamborghini) is 8700. It seems most manufacturers are all about the same except for Porsche. Just saw that price on my Lamborghini STO purchase order sheet.

First McLaren Jitters

I was hoping some folks here might be able to help me answer a question about later model 570 S's? I am considering p/u a 2020 570 S (880 miles / 1 owner) and wondering/hoping if MOST of the electrical problems that have been long associated with Mc's have been worked out? I have had been involved with Porsche and Ferraris in the past and do understand that all brands have challenges from time to time. Car, was traded in, (?) and is being resold by dealer it was purchased from.

I have asked this questions on the two McLaren forums, but feel I may get a more accurate reply here.

Thanks for your time.

Just do your homework on the maintenance history (what there is of it), hopefully there will be no recurring issues. Personally I would prefer a few more miles, but odds are you will be fine. FWIW, I just sold my early 2016 570S with 14.7k miles on it, and it was right up there with the most reliable cars I ever owned. Never had a single electrical issue. I had a small coolant leak, a stress fracture in the windshield, a thermostat had to be replaced, all covered under warranty of course, and that was it. Fabulously quick and engaging car, I loved it.

Building SUVs saved Porsche.....just sayin'

I had heard they were selling their real estate in a sale/lease back deal, but I didn't hear about this. Apparently the cash from the sale/leaseback wasn't enough capital to keep them going?

Many forget the 90’s and the boxter was key. Porsche had one car the 911.

The world doesn't need and won't buy 6000 McLarens... especially a world with ever more restrictive automotive rules. They should focus on building 1000 or so high revenue very special cars and actually try to turn a profit on them. Instead management are pissing away a brand, valuable assets, and all the investor money by wanting to wish reality were different than what it is. A lot of ego goes into these misguided decisions. Pity.

yup less volume, but when you look at the financial statements the car division was profitable ......its F1 that’s the cash drain.

I don’t get why Mclarens F1 cars are so awful. They can’t even figure out the aero, yet their road cars, Senna, 765LT, etc, basically spanks anything south of $1M.
