That's interesting. What I also find interesting is that some owners seem to have chronic issues with the glass cracking, while others don't have any issues at all.
If it is the rigidity of the carbon monocoque, why the variability in owner experience? Are some driving the car harder and putting more stress on the chassis? Or did McLaren update the chassis at some point? Or is there just that much variability in the build quality?
Has me curious because I am seriously considering picking up a 720S this winter and wouldn't be happy if my windows are cracking all the time.

The glass problem was about the quality of the manufacturing process. I heard one panel crack on the interstate drive home from the one year service. Since replacement glass roof panels are being supplied by a new source, the dealer replaced both sides. There is a 3-year/no mileage warranty so it’s not much of a worry if it somehow happens again.

Is the car homologated for the US or will it have to be imported under Show and Drive? (I don't remember whether the super short windscreen is street legal)

I'm very curious to hear what you think compared to the GT3RS. I've been seriously thinking about getting a 720S, or possibly the LT version when it's available. But the 675LT also seems like a really good deal right now and I'm wondering how it would compliment my GT3RS.

Interesting product, and I'm not surprised by the growth of 100%. Still hard to gauge if they are pulling share from Porsche, Ferrari, or Lambo minus seeing the side by sides. Also an increase of 1600 car sales across the globe is a small number relative to the number of Porsche cars sold that compete in the same space if some share came off Porsche.
I see several issues with MAC small dealer network, high depreciation, owners get screwed because their car is obselete the next year with a new model. (650, 650S, and two versions of the 570 in less than a year) if I would take a guess I would say share is coming from Ferrari or Lambo because of the price point. Also Porsche GT cars tend to be used by more guys that track their cars and driving the crap out of them, and MAC is more see my new toy in most cases. I have a friend that had 3 650's, 570, and 675LT, and all sold or traded with less than 2000 miles.
I have driven the 650S, and the brakes are crap when stopping hard at 190mph. Same run in a Turbo S the brakes are rock solid and I felt safe vs. the MAC getting loose in the back during braking. The Porsche never over heated launch after launch like the MAC so they have some durability issues to solve, but they are super fast! They do make it easy to order cars, and paint them any color you like though? Almost purchased, but would never buy new due to the depreciation hit which is terrible.

It will be very interesting to see what happens with the value and pricing of these cars when the C8 Z06 hits the ground. I am willing to bet that the C8 Z06 will outperform every McLaren except the Senna and will out perform the Pista, Huracans and Ford GT, and Porsche GT cars. I am already first on the list for one.

I also own both. In my opinion, and based only on spirited street driving, is that the RS has the edge in sound.... but that’s about it. However, the LT is the best sounding turbo car I own and has dramatic cracks and pops during shifts which the RS doesn’t have. I’m puzzled why Porsche doesn’t engineer more emotion into their shifting algorithm the way Ferrari and McLaren do.
The LT has an overall much more exotic feel and look to it. It’s feather light with super quick steering. Sitting in the car gives an impression of a heavily raked stance and ones feet feel like they are forward of the front axle. It’s really unique/cool and hard to explain. The power is intoxicating with serious top end punch.
if it’s not obvious, I highly recommend one. I’ve even been tempted to buy another as I think they’re significantly under valued for the performance and driving experience they deliver. History will be kind to the 675 LT.

The RS really pales in comparison to the 675LT.
The 675LT even sounds good for a McLaren.
