Have you ever seen one or sat in one???

The hood is very long and awkward when behind driver's seat. I wish I liked the design more. It just does not get the blood pumping. The green color is pretty cool looking though

Grand Tour Season 2 Episode 2. Clarkson reviewed it. Didn't love it.

Agreed. Car sounds awesome, drives great I hear, but it just looks wacky to me. Odd proportions and a bit too shouty for me.

Not in the GTR but been in the GT-S. Bonnet is indeed huge but I have driven S/CL/SL class before so I am familiar with it. I really really like the design and proportions actually (especially compared with the prior SLS AMG). Looks almost Vanquish/Vantage-like but better IMO, AMG designers did a great job. The interior is so damn nice and love their adjustable performance seats. That being said, it's not a 911 and that is what I enjoy most/puts a smile on my face. that intangible 911 feel, fit, and finish.

AMG GTR has no brake cooling at all

Interesting at this price level of car!

Looked Misha's vlog yesterday.

Link for vlog: (starting at 11:06 The main issue on GTR is brake cooling...)

Yes, but while the guy highlights this element, he does not say it actually causes a problem. And I can tell you that I have not experienced any issues in mine. Lots of cars don’t have direct brake cooling. I will find out for sure when I have my first serious track day with it early March.

I believe it depends of the track and how you use your car, does the brakes hold up or not.

Yeah but he hated it because it was too much of a track weapon. He thinks AMGs should be savage drift machines where you go sideways. The GTR is all about going around a track fast, not breaking the rear loose and sliding around.

Both are credible I think. You just gotta understand where each is coming from. Clarkson is a little kid. Harris isn't.

Right. The same car that ran almost 2 seconds faster on their track than the GT3 RS. Albeit buying a car is not just about the performance specs, Jeremy Clarkson liking or not liking anything holds very little water for me is my real point, and my personal opinion (defer to Chris Harris). And the reasons he didn’t like the car are ridiculous: it doesn’t smoke tires like an AMG (oh you mean this thing actually has grip?), the E63S has 600hp (spoiler: the GTR actually makes over 600hp), there’s a more powerful GTR (aka Black Series) coming out (yes for way more money- that’s like saying don’t get a GT3 because a GT3 RS is coming). Umm, did I mention it was almost 2 seconds faster than the GT3 RS?

At the end of the day it comes down to what you want. From a feel perspective it would be a tough choice. Both cars are amazing in their own way (which is why some of us here are blessed to have both cars or are getting both cars). Your gut will tell you what’s right for you. But putting aside any biases for a particular brand, even though the GTR and GT3 are in the same price category, you are getting more car with the GTR. It really is an incredible bargain for the price. You need to drive this thing to understand that. It really is that good.

My .02. And yes, the long hood can drive you nuts at low speeds
