wow! I've always loved white colour, it's amazingly beautiful combination you got. I am going with brilliant blue with yellow callipers, yellow stitchings, and yellow seat belt. Too bad, the performance/Track package can't be ordered here in Canada. I can only get the standard seats instead of those bucket seats ><

Have you inquired whether the bucket seats will be available as a late option? I doubt we'll get the harness and cage option.

Deposit placed.

I asked about euro delivery and he said they don't recommend it. The Canadian website is weak on details, maybe speaks to quality of the program. His focus point was that the car travels unwrapped from point of drop to dealer with ED. Is that true?

It's true. I was told by dealer that MB outsources car transport during ED, and it travels as is.

Forget ED then. Any rate still waiting on GT3 allocation. Will see where this all goes. GT R would be expected by summer.

This is the same way Porsche does it. Third party drops (apart from factory) and same for transportation to Emden. Cars aren't wrapped, just in the open. If you pass on ED for this reason, you'd be missing out on an incredible experience to avoid a few potential nicks?

It's transported "naked" but you could get it wrapped in Germany.
It's all by first rate shippers, not a worry for me.

Porsche even services my car for free with 6000 miles on it.

I won't even consider a new car unless it's ED.

Interesting that Porsche does it this way as well. I may ask MB dealer more about it, maybe he didn't want to be positive on it for other reasons?

With Porsche & MB who has liability once it drops till it arrives at the dealer? Presuming manufacturer?

So does BMW. They seem to share the same logistics/shipping companies to handle it.

In the case of Porsche (and presumably the others) Porsche insures the car until delivered in the US. I had a small ding on an end plate from shipping and it was replaced without question at my dealer.

Exactly, dealers have many reasons to not want to do it, its an extra hassle and they have to pay for it.

Just imagine picking up your car like it was new from the dealer except you put all the delivery miles on. In my case twice 6000 miles on both RS and Macan.

Never even thought to clean it up myself before dropping it off...anybody know if it is the same these days with ED of MB/BMW/Porsche?

As I said above it's the same with Porsche and the rest. Doesn't get touched until your dealer receives it, so however you drop it off is how it will arrive (plus dirt/crap from the boat and truck rides.)

says it's not allowed because bucket seats comes with roll cage and that is not legal to be licensed on public roads in Canada.

Yes that's correct. I have seen a M4 GTS which the owner did the ED and the car arrived to the dealer with a minor lip damage which the owner caused when he was in Europe. The car was as is when he dropped off, same as other member mentioned, same dirt, same dead bugs.

Bummer. You'd think they could just do buckets as a standalone option. My rep said the standard Canadian seats are the buckets. Which they are not. So doubt I can get reliable info from him.
