Gents. I agree in these images the aesthetic isnt as well resolved as the 991.1 GT3 version. In my mind the front is trying too hard to be a GT4 and I think the loss of the rear bumper vent is a shame, Im also not a fan of the over detailed new rear gen2 tail lights but thats a personal thing...
Like others have said, my allocation is still in play however, as its all about the engine IMO (4.0L, with some convincing updates for longevity please)!
Personally I believe the makeshift looking rear diffusers you see in these images are either a red herring (testing to see if it makes any difference on track) or a late addition. I dont believe they will make production (infact I hope they dont as they look more of a liability than an asset to me - they would be forever getting damaged).
I think we have to agree that the dutch leaked CAD images form a few months ago are the final product - the images have been 100% on the money to date. Porsche will have signed off on the aesthetics a long time ago IMO....and I cant see the diffuser in the CAD pictures I have on file.
I guess the 64,000$ question is...will it debut at the LA show? I have to say, with a scarcely como version running around the Ring today, its seems a few months early to be showing such a naked car so its a real possibility?
P.S. Its worthy to note the picture of the black car testing on the ring still has camo - by way of an insert taped across the twin air inlet scoops above the rear spoiler, the blanking out of the mesh in the rear lower valence (near exhaust tips) and the silver steel mesh vent below the rear wing...

I think the design of the new front bumper has created an additional flat "shelf" to increase down force and balance the rear spoiler which has obviously been raised to aid more rear downforce...

To me the even bigger question is whether Porsche is going to limit its production or if everyone who wants one will be able to order one (at a "reasonable" price I might add)?

Will be come out in Geneva...heard from 2 991R owners who have more Porsches than cars I'll ever buy in 4 lifetimes. It'll be a 4.0L engine. Questions are will it have a lightweight flywheel option and maybe a diffuser option.

They sure didn't limit production with the RS so no way they limit it with the GT3. They need all the $$$$ they can get. Build baby build!

I agree. General consensus is after 991.1 GT3, they've decided to increase their production of GT cars.
991.1 GT3 is completed Dec 2016 with around 3300-3500 cars globally
981 Cayman GT4 is completed Sept 2016 with estimated 5000-5500 units world wide
991.1 GT3RS is still in production till Dec 2016 with estimates on final build of 4500-5500 units world wide.
My guesstimate is we will see 5500 x 991.2 GT3 at the very least. So, enough for everyone I suspect, as long as you are a bit patient.
For me if the engine "improvements" are significant enough (hoping so) I would probably avoid the first 6 months build (with the 991.1 GT3 I had one of the first RHD cars built). This will give them time to iron out some of the smaller stuff, although this time around the product should be pretty polished out of the box. So, keep the 991.1 GT3 till mid 2018 then sell once 991.2 GT3 is landed sounds like a good plan. Another 2 years with the 991 GT3 is hardly penance ;-)

Whoopsy, what is your insight on this? The production #s for the 991.1 GT3/RS far exceeded all previous generations. Is there any reason why PAG wouldn't continue to produce as much as there is demand?
More importantly, what will be the expected relationship between dealers and MSRP?
