You might be right but it's hard to believe they'd skip the potential for 5,000+ RS sales when they could do both the RS and a limited edition send-off. We've seen them do some unusual things with model-year designations recently.

I don't mind more flavors. I'd like to see a finer gradient... GT3, GT3RS, GT3RS LE, GT2, GT2RS, GT1 anyone?

No idea why anyone thinks this time around will be any different. Porsche will offer a 3.1 and 3.2 Gt3 and Gt3rs. They've added an R model. I kinda understand why they are offering the gt2 platform in RS badge only given how similar the 997 gt2/RS capabilities, relatively high msrp and relatively few total cars produced were. But why on earth would they pass up the chance to sell another several thousand 3.2rs's? Doesn't make sense to me they'd pass up the cash or break from past pattern. My ONLY thought would be that they think they will just canabalize the gt2rs sales? Like the pdk-only 3.1 Gt3, they forced most to PDK-s and built a following. Maybe they want to force the RS crowd to try turbo platform; and if they offer both, they won't accomplish it?? But I think it's safer to bet on Porsche continuing to be methodical and predictable.

Why does PAG encourage such rampant speculation on their product line. It is worst than Apple as at least everyone knows they will continue to make an iPhone.

Why can't PAG say, we will for sure release a GT3RS and make this much quantity. Obviously, all of this has long been decided by management at PAG.

I know many of you think that by not communicating as such it creates a frenzied customer who HAS to sell everything to buy a GT3RS, but I don't think that is the case. Releasing good product at the right price in the right market during the right global economy will always guarantee a sale. Wouldn't it be fun if this thread had 6 posts because PAG said, 991.2 GT3 will appear on X date, followed by 6 months the 991.2 GT3RS AND we have determine the price to be Q of which all dealers will sell it only at Q.

It's a car, not some mysterious resource...

Their customers are the dealerships, and they will find all of that information out at the dealer meeting, which takes place very soon.

Then your local dealer will have the opportunity to lie, dissemble, and equivocate about production and availability given the informational asymmetry they enjoy over their customers.

Errrr...how exactly does PAG "encourage rampant speculation"?

It's not PAG, it's the crazy people on this forum who do the speculation all on their own...and I am one of them...besides, it's part of the fun of the anticipation of a new model.

And why do expect Porsche to behave differently to any other manufacture by announcing forward release plans. All manufactures announce cars when they are good and ready.

I also remember some people on here saying that they'd only sell 600 RSs in the US...some much for that. They will build a non numbered .2RS because they can easily sell 5,000+ of them for $200k or so a pop which is $1B in sales.

No need to worry, PAG will do what they want regardless of RL. When they're ready the info will come. Just be patient.
