Yeah - the P1 2M+ selling price really matters to McLaren.
Porsche guys freaked out when the SV and Performante times were turned but the 2RS comes in and no one questions anything - add water and get sub 6:50
2RS is a incredibly fast turbo love the W but impassible to get.

And while I don't buy a car based just on Ring time (or any lap times), I think it is something people do take into consideration. It is, at least, a factor for me when I'm buying a sports car / weekend track toy. Will I not buy a 911 based only on the fact that a similarly priced GT-R (for example) laps the Ring faster? No, but it is something that I will take into consideration.
And, really, it would be foolish not to, especially when these marques advertise their sports cars with slogans like "the most track focused" or "racing bred" or in the case of the P1 GTR ... "Without road-car regulations to hold it back, the McLaren P1™ GTR is the ultimate driving machine."

Are they able to produce 500 cars? 1000 cars? 2000 cars? 10000 cars? in the available production window?
Guess we will wait and see - I'm guessing 2000 cars world wide.

I think it's pretty fair to say that Porsche would have no problem selling the 991.2 GT2 RS with or without an official Ring time, just as McLaren had no problems selling the P1 GTR without a Ring time.

Seems like PMNA has given out more GT2RS allocation to non-VIP Rennlist folks than dealerships. haha

Nice to read that PMNA is distributing allocations - seems like a good way to reward some strong client relationships. Some dealers might be upset, since PMNA is reducing the number of allocations available to be sold to highest bidder regardless of history with Porsche. Am I reading this correctly? Is PÁG finally doing something about ADMs?
Also, interesting to see how good Porsche engineering is - Just a couple of years ago, Godzilla tried to compete with whatever Porsches at the Ring. Now they don't even try anymore, it seems. AMG and Lamborghini are the only ones out there close to Porsche, but Nissan and BMW seem to be competing in the next tier with the much cheaper, quite competent, American cars. McLaren might be a strong contender, but who knows what the 720 S can do at the Ring in a controlled setting? They do not want to enter the Ring marketing program, apparently.
