Not to divert the thread, but at the time of orders, the 918 was seen as a good way to lose money. And, there would be a lot fewer 2RS buyers if the same held true now.

Anyway...from what i can see in terms of allocations, we are still looking at numbers well in excess of the R, so hopefully a large percentage of buyers (who will use the car), eventually get one.

Money begets money.

Because this KINGKONG holds the Nurburgring record, soon we will see this car skyrocket in pricing.

Nevertheless, we all benefit that these PORSCHE GT models perform really well, and lifts up the brand and other models it carries. The desirability factor to own a PORSCHE without a doubt is very, very high.

Drive safe,

I could have bought:
991RS and flipped it for 100k over sticker.
991R and flipped it for 100k over sticker.
991GT2RS and Flip it for 100k over sticker.

Then flip 918 spyder for 200k over sticker.

Not a bad way to make $500k.

Even though I have zero interest in the 2RS, I hope that Porsche does build enough cars so that the people who really want to have one to drive it get it without having to pay some stupid ADM. I don't think there are many RL folks who seem to have an allocation yet which is discouraging to hear. I keep getting brokers pinging me asking if I want one for $150k-$200k over....I just tell them to go away.

I want one. But I can't get one. Order on demand and will probably stay that way forever. Meh

Everyone ordering a GT3 might as well save their money and switch to a Boxster -- would make almost no difference compared to this beast.

I doubt the 911R/GT3 box is built to handle that much torque. And it would also need a much taller R&P ratio and stouter clutch...

Yes, I agree, and before they said no manual transmission would fit the 9A1 motor, then they changed their minds.

So I'm sure Sachs could give them advice on how to build a transmission and clutch to handle the required loads.

After all, Porsche figured out how to make the PDK handle this amount of torque.

It's not an engineering problem, but a marketing problem....

2 Cars is what we currently have...leaving 14 guys out of luck here at my dealership. Hopefully there will be a gift basket at some point of a couple more cars.
