Yeah - the P1 2M+ selling price really matters to McLaren.
Porsche guys freaked out when the SV and Performante times were turned but the 2RS comes in and no one questions anything - add water and get sub 6:50 2RS is a incredibly fast turbo love the W but impassible to get.
Nobody knows for certain if this will be impossible to obtain.. I am still waiting to hear back from my dealer about my brothers allocation... and while it may not happen, they haven't told me "no" which is what they would have said if it were impossible.
Back in the earlier days of the Hyper Car, there were articles when the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari refused to compete "independently" conducted by a third party against the 918 Spyder.
Don't know anyone that does - so I'm more in McLaren's camp of not seeing the value. Also never been at the track where we've talked about Ring times vs our own times/where we think we can get to.

I do yes, do iam a stupid guy? Do I need to consult a doctor or psy you think?

I’m not saying right or wrong but yes I think being the quickest car in the world at the planet’s most demanding track increases demand for said vehicle.

Procrastinate when spending 300k.
That's bs - dealers whole premise are to sell cars when someone walks in the door.
Someone wants to play games that's fine I do not - read all the guys who post and feel the same it's not the customers job to be a customer.
This is a porsche marketing show with no go - for whatever reason we can not get a car that was told to be available - the end.

If you look at the $250k+ segment though, which time is available to compare it to?
I honestly don't pay that much attention to who's running it these days and not, but I don't recall seeing a 488 time, 720S etc. Right now it seems to be only VW putting the effort into run it at the higher end, 918 beaten by Performante, beaten by GT2 RS.

The ones that break the record will always seem to be the only ones "putting in the effort" and "taking it seriously". The ones that tried and failed be like: "Just did it for fun -- who needs a new record, anyway?"

Hey, I hear you.. My bro's spec was $400k+ CAD..lol Why a dealer would not want that $ is beyond me.. he is also UHNW, so doing business would be beneficial for them, not only future business but referrals..
That said, when speaking with my dealer principle it did seem as though the limitation was from porsche directly...
918 owner Whoopsy, has been kind enough to share some insider info and has publicly stated that they won't be limited and I certainly hope that he is correct (once again) Now I know you don't see eye-to-eye, with 918 owners, but from my experience, he (whoopsy) seems to have always been spot on when sharing with this community.
I'm staying positive until I get the official "no" from my dealer. (for the sake of being able to drive this beast.. lol)
people in north america getting worked up about allocations need to relax. nobody on this side of the pond will get a car until euro deliveries are satisfied, which means virtually nothing until 2018. in the meantime, unscrupulous dealers will do all they can to fan the fire. best to ignore them and listen to what AP has repeatedly said; they'll make all the cars they think they can sell within the available production window. and go work on your driving skills with a coach while you're waiting. you're going to need it.

Now that was a Sport Auto Super Test, and not Ferrari themselves running a controlled session with their own drivers so expect 4-5 seconds shaved off that time for sure.
