My guess is Porsche will send more than 287 GT2 RS cars to the US. A lot more.

All this meaning, in the unlikely event every 918 owner in the US bought a GT2 RS car, there would still be quite a few left over for the peons.

That's true at 1 2 300 over msrp - whereas 918 owners are at msrp treated like a customer was intended to be I am not one.

Hang in there!
Thanks - passed on the 6 speed GT3 was given a #20 slot I don't understand why anyone would want to make a track car slower harder to drive and more dangerous but it's their money.

You are probably correct or incorrect which is where the problem lies.

Somehow I don't think a 918 owner is going to be '' out of money '' after buying a 175K GT3 and will need to pass on a GT2 RS .

On my dealers list pretty high up the list. If I get an allocation I get it. If I don't I don't. Really don't care that much anymore.

Not holding my breath. Another 918 special so to speak. This has reached laughable proportions especially when guys here get all lathered up over a car they will never be offered or own.

My attitude is "if I can't have one, I have 0 interest in discussing it, reading about it or thinking about it". It means 0 to me.

Well said my friend and I'll even add "insulting" to what you said. What's the point of showing a car off when most people that want one can't get one without paying through the nose? Dumb.

arent 918 spots different from regular allocations, shouldn't you still have an allocation? The maddening thing is that 918 owners get treated like we all wish we'd get treated, we know they can do it just not for us peasants

We can hope that they are out of garage space, however (not in the case of Anonymous918 of course).

Instead, less than a year after the last 918 is sold, out comes the new champion of everything, the GT2. In every metric, equal to or better than the 918. But, at 1/3 the cost, with two less cylinders and doesn't require an extension chord.

That's gotta hurt.
Both of these are wishful and not accurate statements, insofar as the 918 guys I know. They are buying all the cars Porsche offers them as well as other brands at the same time, and their wads are far from blown.. A a few are on their second jet or yacht.. or 4th home, and not even close to blown wad. Not to mention they are happy for the differentiated offering of multiple Porsche sports cars, without any sense of threat to the 918's performance, in fact one has just purchased his second 918 because it had a cool PTS color. extra zeroes on the end of the wad...

So do you have one now or still dreaming

Successful people do not take no for an answer - they maneuver.

I fully agree with you. I do not know among the several people I know who are 918 Spyder owners who are hurting for money. Technically it is a drop in their bucket of "$Benjamins$. They practically buy whatever car they want outside of the PORSCHE brand.

In fact they are in an enviable position because of their VIP status, they get one car on ALL and or ANY model of their choosing (first dibs), That includes the highly desirable PORSCHE GT cars at MSRP. To me that is a bargain deal now that PORSCHE is at the same level as that of FERRARI, or may have even surpassed it.

Drive safe,
