Hey,
Located in France (french riviera) and delivery confirmed by my dealer for march 2018 one of the first in the country, easy spec full full black with weissach package and full standard red interior.

I wanted navy blue color but unfortunately PTS color will not be made for the moment, i will get anyway few special embroidery marking inside.

I think this car will be totally insane fast.

I know 8 people who are getting one, and 6 of them are definitely buying it to track. Not spoken to the other 2 recently.
Wouldn’t be buying it as a road car, and not buying it for its looks, that’s for sure…

FYI,
I did 20k miles in 991.1GT3 on road and track in 18 months. just done 600 Miles in .2 GT3.This new version is very close feels identical actually to the 91RS on road in none sport mode. And its as loud as the 991 R inside.

991.1 GT3 was not like this. As a DD in traffic on the phone etc, as epic as the GT3 is, think I prefer Turbo S and or Targa 4GTS. GT3.2 Feels more track bias than the Gen 1.

LOVE to hear this! Hoping when my .2 GT3 Arrives, I wont be missing my RS. I can't keep them both, so I debated whether I order one. In the end I moved forward and I'm hopeful I feel the same way you do about the .2

This is in great contrast to what Porsche implied early on.
CJ, can you verify this info is correct, 301 non VIP cars for the US?
same gt script as always. some dealers push the first allocation as one and done to fan the flames. there are always more to follow.

sounds like the mother ship is confusing honesty with whinging. maybe they should spend more time focusing on the cause and less on trying to paper over the symptoms.

but i'll leave it at that because i'm sure my honesty is not helping your cause....

If I get an allocation my brother (and I, ) will track it about 6 x a year.. My gt3 will see about the same.. (6-10) events a season.

Best way I can describe it is, getting a 91RS removing the wide body etc. And placing it all in the GT3 body. Only faster rev and more torque on the engine and fast shift change up and down

Drove my 997 4.0RS back to back last night, leaving the MT aside .Nothing between the 2 from an emotive, sound etc fun to drive point.

You sure it's not 300 for 2017 and there will be more in 2018/19?

300 would make sense for this year but not for the whole run if the Porsche execs keep saying that this is not a limited production car. I can't see the number of GT2's delivered to the US being similar to the number of 918's that were delivered. Makes no sense.

this is just awesome to read! I thought to GT3.1 was too soft. I had both a 2015 GT3.1 and 2015 C4S at same time, found the GT3 to be more comfortable as a DD oddly. The only thing that made it more challenging was the lower ground clearance.

Picking up in Leipzig in 5 weeks! cant wait to row the gears on the autobahns and alpine passes.

There are zero for 2017. They will ALL be built in March through November of next year as 2019 models.

I guess we will see what happens when the "limited" production run of GT2 RS's takes place and only 300 are shipped to the US...

I then asked for deposits from the first 10-15 GT3 guys. I entered 29 of the 38 guys (or something like that) into v070.

I received nowhere near that amount of allocations, same issue at every dealer. Every dealer has 20-40 legit guys for a GT3 or GT3RS, no doubt. I have a super tight legit 25-30. That's 3000-5000 total GT cars over the next 3 years in USA. That is feasible. Porsche makes 30,000 911's a year. So factor potential capacity is 3,000 worldwide a year? A lot of guys can afford to KEEP a Gt3 and an RS or a 2RS.

The biggest issue is secondary supplier production and quality control. Expensive components like CF spoilers, CF seats, PCCB rotors etc can delay the "on time production model" a lot. Imagine a carbon bucket seat recall. God forbid. That would ruin the entire run of cars.

I have received NO numerical confirmation of allocations (1000 world wide? No idea. 2000? No idea) for the GT2RS. I was told over 2000 GT3's would land in usa. That's a fair amount considering the 3RS and a new GT4 and the GT2RS will land eventually within similar windows (next 30 months).

GT2RS:

In regards to the VIP thing- we have one guy here with a 918. He ordered his car. We have yet to receive any other allocations. I have 12 legit guys on my list, I have 10 v70's.

As dealers we call around...and as customers you know that some dealers operating on various wavelengths have various approaches.

I'm obviously not anywhere near cut from the cloth of the average car dealer let alone porsche dealer and and into the double digits in terms of "stern reminders" for speaking out too loudly and complaining about other dealers. So I'll leave it at that.

Great post again by C.J....
