Like Randy Pobst saying the RS dangerous because the RS rear isn't stable?! That's just a ****ty setup otherwise there'd be an RS in the wall every other weekend.

I have spoken to a few M4 GTS drovers and non was scared of the car..
One of them Nur93 on the GT4 Rennlist pages is a helluva driver. I think he traded his GT4 for a M4 GTS.

Peter I didn't see you out on track today. I was in Red group. Certainly you weren't the only other car that didn't pass me other than that Miata? LOL

Hi Mark,

I just went yesterday for the night session.
Arrived at 4PM left at 9PM, on the couch home by 11 :-)

Chateau was booked out, I was pretty much out of tires and front pads, thought about staying as the track was fast this morning but I'd have to sign up for the whole day just to do one session on beat up tires..

Ok, gotcha. Didn't realize when we chatted last night that it was just the night session you were running. Speaking of tires, I brought a brand new set and a tiny puncture occurred in one of them, cutting my day short today. Always something in this hobby,

Yeah, I've read Nur93's comments. I don't think most people understand the importance of setup, especially in a car like the GTS where they run spring perch inserts that need to be removed for track.

On a practical note, how does one clean the "frozen gray" paint?

cleaning is not the big thing / no big differences what frozen owners told me.

polishing and repainting is thrilling (impossible even at medium level).

Nur93 what up with you and your GTS?
or too much winter up north?

My old M6 - a wonderful car. And, in truth, I have had nothing but good experiences with BMW.

Claksson do not know a GTS only give 2kg front and 4 kg rear downforce @200km/h.....if its set at street mode in regards of aero setting! Clakssons issue is he drove it like that on track! Even worse, also on a wet track!

Hell yes, if you are lost behind a box and drive a GTS like that on track it willl be all but god. In other Words, if its wet and you drive this street aero on track you Will have a hard time in he rain.

Also he drive car at high street setting, that only for street and Nurburgring ....if drive GTS like that it Will not do well on the average GP track layout. It Will roll and pitch and move around and it will also make it hard for tire on GP track layout if drive high street setup.

It Will transform to a real preformace car if you drop it down low and Max out front/rear aero. Now it fly well on GP track layout!

In the end many car guys who test it Will not know this, GTS is no turn key car. But what do they know-to some its more importent to get the right photosetting and make a cool film then to take the time to set up a GTS. It Will not drive Well out of the box, thats street setting.

Also Its against the law to drive front splitter Max aero on street. Hence all cars who is given to car tester splitter is on No aero mode. And I am sorry to tell you it stay this way often even on track test.

A vanila M4 produce Big Lift front/rear.(24kg front lift/12 rear lift, hence it produce No downforce at 200km/h.

Clarksson drive the GTS in street aero, its not as bad as vanila M4, but its no GTS grippy car at that aero setting-its 2kg front/4kg rear downforce.

You need Max track aero front/rear on track, and LOW TRACK setting-In that drop GTS get more track aggressive camber and toe. Its a different animal then, its race car grippy. In wet you must sett Max aero, then its very grippy. Clarksson talk about a scary twitch GTS, sure as he drive no aero in dry and wet!
GTS produce 28kg front / 93 kg rear downforce in Max aero mode in 300km/h. And in 200km/h 12kg front /40kg rear @200km/h.

it you and Clarksson ever drive the car in different aero settings, but also very importent high/low chassie setting on the right rebound/compression you would understand! Sorry, untill then you Will not! This is also to be Said to Chris Harris, he drove GTS in the same street setup on racetrack...duh! Car Will not drive Well then!
