Default BMW M4 GTS

What you guys think about the 2016 M4 GTS. Impressive lap time for Nurburgring 7.28. Is it a competitor for 991 GT3/GT3 RS ? How many of you are interested? only 300 cars coming to USA.

I am not convinced that super-powered limited editions are the way to get the M mojo back. I was an easy, easy prospect for lifetime purchases of M-branded products, but they totally lost me around 2012. I have a friend who is getting an M2, and maybe it will return the M sub-brand to its historic ethos, but I'm not holding my breath. The GTS is sure to be technically good, but it doesn't "feel" to me like something I would want instead of or as well as what I have. I'd rather get an RS or save for a 675.

Once I was awoken by the light called Porsche....I'll never go back to BMW...unless I don't have a choice!

Overpriced -- regular m3/m4 is not great either. Gt3 feels 1000x better

Slightly OT, but I thought about buying an F10 M5 when it was launched a couple of years ago, but gave up once I learned that there is synthesized engine sound that comes through the radio to the interior of the car. Still a nice car, but that issue made me re-think. M2 might be promising. M3 Lime Rock Edition that I saw was nice and different. Maybe the GTS will be something like Black Series for AMG

I wonder if they are going to be sold for over msrp? I suppose now we just wait and see on how the m4 gts reviews are like.

bmw went downhill after the e92 m3. I'd say the pinnacle was the e46 m3 csl and the e39 m5. I myself had an e36 and e46 m3.

I've driven the m4 and f10 m5 and hated them both. So squishy and over assisted. Even in sport mode the steering feels dead compared to the old M cars.

I saw it at the Chicago Auto show and liked the way it looked but once I saw the price tag I was just like over priced for a 2-door sedan.

owned an F80

Positives - nice interior; good color choices; solid build; monster brakes (ceramics).
Negatives - too much tech; too disconnected; electric steering; turbo; crap manual trans.

Dumped it within six weeks.

Same here. I used to own an e90 m3. When I found out BMW would be using their fake soundtrack on the next gen m3 (I refuse to acknowledge the m4 moniker), I threw in the towel. I will never own another BMW - that was the final straw for me.

As Tommy Lee Jones once said to Jim Carrey, "I cannot sanction your buffoonery"

Getting an M2 as my daily. With BMS chip it will be 415hp and 450 tq. Car and Driver weighed it full of fluids at 3400. With Cup 2's this car will definitely be a fun little car for 60k or under!
