I sat in a couple and felt claustrophobic.
Too small for me. Interior and fit and finish is nice enough but it drives pretty crude.
But not in a bad way. Just brutal and sledgehammer like.

The head of Viper is Ralph Gilles. He's a real car guy - so it's no surprise that the Viper is a fantastic track day car. He was at a PCA DE event at Mid-Ohio with a Viper GTS - just hanging out with everyone. Very approachable

This is a video he posted - even the GTS looks to be quite a bit quicker then the 991 GT3!

I've been a Porsche owner since 1973. There are currently 5 Porsches sitting in my garage and one of them is a 2011 GT3RS so I bleed Porsche. This year I tried to buy a 991 GT3RS and they were all taken or available at way over MSRP. Then I tried to buy a GT4 Cayman and it was the same deal. I then thought of the unthinkable after reading various articles……..buying a Viper ACR Extreme. I ordered the car over the phone with no money down from a dealer who I never dealt with before at under MSRP. That was Aug 5 of this year. The car arrived at the end of November and all I can say is that it is badass.
I still love my Porsches but this has really been a easy and extremely positive purchase.
Happy Holidays

Hey CJ, I may consider getting one just to force Marc to drive it to me and deliver it!!!

Sounds like a fun car!

This thread is so strange. so many Porschephiles diggin' the ACR Exreme. Corvette guys love to hate on it. Viper guys want to add power and seems like small percentage want to track it with any pace. Rest of world does not seem to know it exists. Soon dogs will lay down with cats.

Not Head of Viper anymore, He is now Head of Design for ALL of Fiat/Chrysler. Still a Viper Track Rat and still a great guy. Best, Allan

That all actually makes some sense. Porsche track guys will appreciate the performance of the ACR, at price in the range of a Porsche GT car. Corvette guys will be pissed that another US car maker has produced a track car faster than their 'bargain supercar'. Viper guys will appreciate the mean demeanor of the car and want to add to its dragster aspect.

I'm guessing a lot of that is blowback from Porsches markup and allocation nightmare with the GT3/RS. Refreshing to see a manufacturer sell their hardcore track weapon with no hoop jumping.
