If this car is indeed such a limited edition,I would think Porsche would build 2-3 colors schemes tops, with stripes/lettering...whatever they have used in the past for the original R. IMO,if I'm Porsche I wouldn't allow PTS or offer a bunch of colors standard for a limited edition that supposedly wants to represent what the brand stands for : less is more. How would it look if people start ordering pink, brown etc.
Very well said

The 911 R’s production run is limited to 600 pieces. Although the steep asking price is said to be more than $160,000, the entire run has already sold out.
Not in the system yet, not even for 918 VIP's. Also, 600 worldwide? Good luck getting that past the 918 VIP's in North America (600 worldwide means we won't get enough in the US to cover all the VIP's, at the minimum).

I been told that 300 918 cars got sold in USA. out of those i'd guess around 20% already exchanged hands, making the remaining VIP-eligible number 240ish. out of that number i'd guess 20% won't care about 911R making number of eligible 918 VIP participants who care somewhere around 200. if that is the number of 911R cars that will end up in USA, you right, vast majority of it will go 918 owners. if the number is higher and the car is as hot as they say it is, there will be a bloodbath.

Bloodbath, indeed.
I have it on good authority that 297 918's came to the US. I've been tracking all the "public" sales, and for the most part, the original owners sat on their 918's for the minimum holding period of 6 months. This qualifies them for 3 years of VIP benefits, despite no longer owning the cars. The chance of a bloodbath if they only make 600 of *any* limited edition Porsche is high... unless they send a decent chunk of those 600 to the US.
Based on history, with respect to the 997.2 GT2 RS (500) and the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 (600), that wasn't the case. I believe we got roughly 150 RS 4.0's to the US.

That's certainly a possibility.
I really wanted a 997.2 Sport Classic. I know we have some in the US, imported, some through a *lot* of trouble (in fact, some RL'ers have one). I could've grabbed one of those a while ago, but I passed.
Instead, we got the 997.2 Speedster.

Shame.
The 991.2 cars going turbo is completely unpalatable. If I wanted a turbo car I'd get an M3/M4, which are also unpalatable.

I agree about the 991.2 street 911 turbos, although there is a small fan base building up for them on the 991 board. Total garbage in my opinion. They're worried about mid range torque on the freeway and getting beat by a M whatever.

Sadly, the Automobile Mag one, which is written as if it's fact based, is just regurgitated internet rumors.
Yeah. No.

Sorry to bearer of bad news .

If that happens, it will be sad, but oh well. Better than a bloodbath on PCNA's hands.
That would also explain how/why it isn't in the system yet.

Im more inclined to think the 600 is USA only out of 900 total world wide. Close enough to sales ratios per geography...
