I'd love to get one , it's the most exciting Porsche as far as I'm concerned fo many years .

The point of the r is the R is not a gt3 with a manual . It is less track focused , less about grip and lap times . The car focuses on feel , interaction and fun . It's a small but significant distinction combined with the very limited numbers

Sorry gents ( 3mph and Zulu ) for some reason my quote button isn't working
I bet it's a combination of cost and safety standards that are at play today. I'm really curious to see what this car turns in to, especially when people in the know, like you, have such high expectations for it.

BTW, it's not your quote button that isn't working. It's my user name. In recent months, the "less than" has been wreaking all sorts of havoc whenever anyone tries to quote me with my user name in the attribution. Moderators / techies have still not solved this. Only work around is to yourself manually remove the "less than" in the opening line "QUOTE=less than 3mph" while composing the reply. Annoying as all get out.

LOL. Can I even change my username? I liked that the "less than 3" also means "heart".

How rare is the 911R going to be ? If one had the choice between the RS and 911R what would you take and why ? Obviously the stick on the R means more user involvement which can be a good thing if your not concerned about the fastest lap times on the track. I miss having a 911 and am considering getting on a 911R list. Thanks in advance.

If the R becomes another Unicorn like the RS 4.0 was I suspect many buyers will try for the 991.2 GT3 with a 6MT as we have been hearing about.

Tbh I think if it's qty 600 nobody will get one and all will go to 918 owners.

The copy pf "600" is what my resources also shared with me. It wasn't clear if the 600 is what is due to America out of a possible 2,000 like the 991 GT3RS?

I suppose more to come prior to the announcement at the 2016 Geneva Car Show.

Drive safe,

My dealer requested an allocation for me a month or so ago, no idea when/if I will get one but I'm more interested in the 911R than the RS as I don't really track my street cars anymore. It just fits my needs better and if it has a backseat option it's a real clear winner for me. But I plan on keeping both if it works out, unless someone offers me too much money...

I'm just excited about a manual car with na engine that isn't all about lap times . If I get one ( and to be fair I expect to ) I'll daily drive the bugger , do track days , drift days and all kinds of stuff !

Thanks for the clarification re the quote thing too matey I thought I was going mad

I asked my dealer earlier today so they're trying to find out what they can. Will share what I learn but suspect it'll be a while before they get back to me.

If this car is indeed such a limited edition,I would think Porsche would build 2-3 colors schemes tops, with stripes/lettering...whatever they have used in the past for the original R. IMO,if I'm Porsche I wouldn't allow PTS or offer a bunch of colors standard for a limited edition that supposedly wants to represent what the brand stands for : less is more.
How would it look if people start ordering pink, brown etc.
