What's wrong with VBox?
If you buy from right vendor its plug and play?

Peter. Vbox is just fine. Doesnt overlay automatically onto the video tho and Im not sure how easy it is to get a canbus hook up. Also AIm set up starts and stops automatic and on and off auto. I forgot to hit the "so" button on my Vbox for a whole day this year and was a bit pi88ed at my negligence.

The Porsche App doesnt deliver the monkies so Im told by a european user. Its a quasi HLT solution and a bit of a gimick tho it amy improve in the future.

Most of all I learnt go with what your buddies are using so you can compare traces on PC. My guys all abandoned VBox 24 months ago when Aim launched the Solo so its not much fun being alone now...

PS the porsche track app is more expensive than AIM Solo DL + hook up cables + Samrtycam HD Gen 2.0 and OB2/Can cables!

Seems to be a very nice tool.

Can anyone tell me if it works with an IPad or IPhone? Assuming there is no WiFi an I do not have a smartphone.

Am not an IT geek, so, sorry to bother you with my basic question...

Sounds like a building consensus to ditch the Porsche Track Precision gimmick software and stick with 3rd party stuff like Smartycam HD + Solo DL? Just wish that was founded in more 1st hand knowledge of the Porsche Track Precision stuff...

mech3. I agree we need more intel on this before its absolute. I have only one reference and it is via a english as second language source. I would like to know more first so all can make valued judgement (for me the dye is already - have tried HLT and many others all frustrating for this due). cast I confess. Maybe slip van help....

Macca, VBox comes out on SD card fully merged? Just plugs into OBD. Grady "Redbear" designed a nice custom scene for me in the 4.0. Only Camera was not HD but I believe it is now. All comes pre-programmed and turns on at 30 MPH. I do nothing but take SD out of car and put in laptop and upload for all TCN fans to Youtube.

Worth the price if it just came ready to go beating VBox quality and multi camera setup.

BTW in Barossa Vale now, heading to Ocean Lodge on Kangeroo Island and landing in Queenstown the 8th. Any track days possible anywhere? Visiting some race tracks but need names to BS myself ontrack

Pete. I didnt know that was possible for VBox. Still prefer the AIM hardware form factor over my VBox and the fact I can move it easily between cars (its got a 6 hr battery).

Cant help your race tracks in Australia sorry mate....

A VBox just gets thrown into the glove box and plugged into 12 V.. It has battery but no idea how long it lasts

The battery is for memory only. It lasts a few years then needs changing. I recently had my unit disassembled and a new one installed.

Ive been a fan on the VBox it served me well. However I want something fully integrated which can read all the latest channels and overlay them in a way I can play with and reorganise data to suit the way I want to watch the video. I also want something which is used by others with similar vehicles at the track. For the similar money as a VBox and GoPro Black 4 the AIM looks like its up to the task.

I know my videos look like crap on YouTube, so I am wondering how the 2.0 compares to the GoPro on the original files. 1080p 60FPS GoPro videos are incredible.
