Great, just ordered the ram mount as well, will compare them both and see which one works best.

so which is better, Aim Solo DL with smartycam HD or the Track Precision app? My build is going to lock soon and I am considering removing the Sport Chrono from my build.

As of right now, the Aim solo and smartycam is the better, more comprehensive, and complete solution.

Get the track precision app for the novelty of it and if you like the 'clock'

Will the Aim Solo DL work with GoPro Hero 3?

Unfortunately, not directly. You will need to use 3 party software like dashware, race render, or trackvision to merge the data from solo DL onto video from gopro. This yields the best results, but requires you to do the work, whereas smartycam is drive and watch.

I understand that with the Porsche track app, you still have to buy a lap trigger from tequipment (how much?) and set it up at the track while the Aim Solo DL is all automatic?

orthojoe, given what you know, are you still getting the chrono clock/track app?

The lap trigger is NOT required. You can use the GPS receiver from your phone OR the car to get your lap timed. The trigger is optional (supposed to be more accurate... how much more accurate is what we don't know). The track app should be just as automatic as the solo if using GPS.

I have the AiM solo DL already and plan to use it on the GT3. However, I also optioned the sport chrono/track app just because I was curious how it would work and want to play around with it. I also wanted a red clock...

Some of those tracks are in the database according to Porsche (See link below) so the system will work at those locations, they're just not predefined / mapped for you to see.

At the tracks that are not pre mapped it would require using the gps during a practice lap to put the map into the database.

Suncoast now has an upgrade kit for a non sport chrono car to add the track precision support to the PCM. Still too expensive when compared to AIM SoloDL, really like mine.

Anybody successfully record a video with this on a 2015? Would love to drop this from my build if it is no good.
