Honestly I hope the RS brings A LOT MORE downforce than GT3. The +25 HP, +30 Nm (my info = 470 Nm) and -40 kg are disappointing to me in view of the price premium vs. GT3 (+35K€ in Germany)...

You are saying the 991 Gt3RS will MSPR for 160,000 Euro in Germany with 19% tax?

Wow. Thats much cheaper than we were expecting. I was told 180-185K Euro base...

One thing. The only person that we have taken data from so far as gospel attended a Porsche dealer presentation today and was giveb 460nm do I think we need to stick with that unless you can declare where your info came from. Up till this mormings data all info was speculative. I think teh weight figure of 1390 should also still be speculative till we get a few more through the presentation who can confirm the data.
Its exciting tho as its all starting to come together.

PS. I cant honestly see any prospective RS clients with orders on here canning them for a GT4. The GT4 has its own questions to answer as you will see on the GT4 thread...

I agree. I don't think any RS guy will be interested in a GT4. There may be a few 991 GT3 guys interested, but no 997 guys. If you're interests are violent speed on the track, this is the car to have aside a 458 Speciale. If you're interests are fun, this may not be the car in my preconceived opinion, I still have to drive the car. But my guess is it's just a more violent version of the 991 GT3.

Sorry, I don't understand. What do you mean by "violent speed" and "fun" and how are they different?

Ignore it. He's a sell proclaimed fanboy of MT cars and certainly not a customer for the current GT3+RS ;-)

I'm interested in both! Completely different cars and price but still two very competent cars.

Hang on - you bagged the 991 GT3 (not being fun enough PDK etc you tried it on track and didnt like it blah blah) but you think its all right in the 991 GT3RS which apart from collectors appeal will probably have little real world difference for most road driving? Its possible Im getting you mixed up with another and apologies in advance if so...

I definitely think you got me mixed up because I haven't had the privilege to drive the 1.3 on track yet. And I have never bagged the PDK. I have some kind of deices that I like them all in their own way. But carbon fenders, magnesium roof, and lexan gets my blood flowing. Hopefully I'll be able to get one in Sweden because I really prefer club sport and lexan. No worries about getting me mixed up. It happens to me all the time.

I'm curious, why do you care so much about Ring times? Does anyone know, throughout the GT3/RS history starting with the 996,any particular driver that is not professional in any way,nor working for Porsche, just an owner of one of these cars, that has matched the official Ring time of when the car was launched?

Hmm... I know Porsche likes to state a HP number, knowing that that is an underrated figure. But when a car company states a number like exactly 500 HP for instance, it just seems like an estimate and the engine was never dyno'd for example. Sort of like the ubiquitous, 700NM or 516 Lb/ft of torque. Every car seems to be rated at exactly 516 Lb/ft of torque these days...

Not sure why it wouldn't have the 918's Magnesium rims/ceramic hubs as an option. They like money, right? Would have been/would be cool.

Hope the Ferrari sickness isn't catching on with Porsche. Sounds like 1,390 kg/3,058 Lb is a dry weight with lightest spec and no fluids instead of wet weight fully fueled without driver. Kerb/Curb weight?

Guess we'll see...
