Thanks SD for the update!!

Similar to the for sale ad that Mateush from Poland posted (#3156 of this Consolidated thread), here are some more photos of a rear bumper for sale (including the lower lip and reflectors this time). The colour looks slightly different in the photos (but still similar to the other ones Mateush posted) and similar to the model. SD, does this look like the real deal for lava orange?

Here's the link to the actual ad:

Here is NateOZ's 918 pic for comparison:

And the model for comparison:

CF front fenders, hood and rear spoiler (steel, alloy, composite)

CD ??? (0.33)
Weight??? (1430kg)
0-160kmph (7.5s)
0-200kmph (11.4s)

On face value the increase in torque & power were within our expectations to maintain the 125bhp/L benchmark. We still have unknown peak power/tq RPM, weight and power curves to fully understand power delivery.
It would appear that the GT3RS struggles against its own dimensional increases from 0-100 and top speed one of which is marginally higher than GT3 and the other less. We assume that CD will be 0.34 or greater. We assume in gear acceleration will also only benefit modestly unless weight benefits are greater than 80lb but that aero will aid lap times especially on longer and faster circuits (like 'Ring). It will be very interesting to flesh this out....cant wait to see marketing pictures. Maybe others going to presentation could help fill out the facts above.
Great summary. Thanks.

Maybe the RS will have magnesium wheels (a la the Weissach Pkg in the 918)? And maybe have foil instead of actual paint just like the 918 with the Weissach Pkg?

Those two changes alone would shave off about 35 kg, if PAG press releases are to be believed, and accurate.

The magnesium wheels are a $32,000 option on non-Weissach 918s...

Yes, and the liquid metal paint option is what?

Every option on that car is at least double the cost of any other P car.

If this is true, look out below on 997 values!

They are steel. Doors are alloy as is roof, hood and rear lid.

If 991 Gt3 owners want to save a few Lbs they can buy the CF hood for the 991 GT3RS (nut it will have a channel down the middle).

That is the most dodgy article I think I have ever read by a mainstream auto magazine. Makes sense our cousins in Australia reported it LOL! Since when has Walter Rohl left Porsche? Because if he really said those things he would have been asked to leave by now! Walter is very discrete. I cant imagine he said those things to an Australian reporter??? As for manual RS.............BS

What is it with recent reporting? First we have the botched Hatz interview and now this?

There will be no Mg wheels or plastic windows. Weight will come in at 1395kg (70lb benefit) and not much better I should say.

On the road I wouldn't not think there wil be much in it between a 991 GT3RS & 991 GT3 (the RS will be stiffer).

On the track I think we will see a 7.15 Ring time. This would sit well with marketing. The car is stiffer and has much better aero which is useful at teh Ring.

Also we have not talked about the lower gearing. I think the gearing must be lower and this will have an impact on the track (but obviously like aero & CD the Vmax may suffer).

Its a fantastic car for wealthy track fanatics or collectors IMO. Lava/Blood orange for me (Purple is too Gold VR6 1990s for me).

I find the orange too light and not vibrant enough . I recall the door jamb photo of the mule testing in CA and it was very washed out looking , but I knew the lighting was poor so didn't get too alarmed . Dying to see this purple they keep talking about . Better still PTS !

Tires add 10lbs total per Michelin spec. Suspect wheel size increase adds less. Wouldn't be suprised to see rear trunk/wing combo come in lighter than base GT3. Front fenders in CF so they'll be lighter. Don't see wider rear fenders and front/rear bumpers adding much weight. I don't believe track will change; just wheel widths.

It'll likely be measured in lighest spec so relative to base GT3 that probably means PCCB, A/C & radio delete + Lightweight Buckets. Suspect they'll have a Lion battery option as in previous RS; not like they can't make a battery to handle RWS. Less sound deadening/thinner carpet, mg roof & cf hood. 100lbs seems reasonable; can't get to 220lb with the above. Might get another 50-60 if manual rumor were true but doesn't seem to be the case.

As for a manual option deep sixing 997 RS values, don't really see it if we're talking about real transaction values as opposed to internet pie-in-the-sky asking prices. Still other factors at play and too big a delta to see many 997 RS owners flushing cars.

Mystery Purple, Grey or PTS (pretty much 0 chance I'm told) for me.

with the main difference being that the F488 will be bipolar - comfortable on the street like the F458 and furiously fast(er than the turbo S) if desired. two cars in one. this is what i like about ferrari: the manettino which ranges from the 'WET' mode to 'ALL OFF'. i can drive it in winter across the alps to monte carlo and have a lot of fun on the route napoleon.
surely not possible (and probably not desired) with the track focused GT3RS.

I truly hope you are right. I don't want a daily. I want a raw and angry drive...every time
