Agree that 1rs will be almost as rare as 4.0 on track! But with a pit lane function comes wheel change! 😃😃😃😃

AP talks to much. I wonder how more often he will be allowed to do so
From marketing point of view the interview was not really good

it was very honest and correct. he is not a marketing guy, he is an engineer.

I know! But that is his problem, because he says things which are interfering with some of the (rubbish) marketing talk. I am glad he is so honest but it clearly shows some discrepancies - like the issue with the 5 lugs or the MT or the NA engines ....
From my point of view he is saying things which are not postive for other products/solutions made at PAG. He may be right but he is moving on thin ice ....

Besides this I think the RS delay is due to the motor issues related to the GT3

No doubt he is passionate about his GT cars. He did a good job talking up the GT3, now the GT4, and soon the RS.

Last news I can share with you. Coming directly by someone well informed ( you have to thrust me sorry).
Presentation : Geneve
Manufacturing start : May
Delivery start : July
Price in Germany : a little more than 180.000 euro
Same engine like Gt3 but notyet any mention about 4.0L or 3.8L
500 hp/ 470 Nm/ 9000 rpm/ 0-100 3,2 sec/ vmax 310 km/h
Sport PDK as mentioned in several posts here.Exterior seen in the last spy pics is the definitive one.
The good new is that the price is lower than predicted (not starting by 190.000 euro) and that finally
she is arriving, even considering that they start the production in May.
Negative : I was expecting more hp and some news about engine capacity.
No mentions about colors or optionals. I hope this helps.
I am waiting mine as many of you here..

Great info. Looks like over $200k USD MSRP (probably $225k optioned).

Big question will be is it worth $80k +/- more than GT3...

If same engine, my money is on this being last NA engine...loving the GT3 more by the minute.

AP is as passionate about these cars as we are. He speaks to the RL community and Harris kind of people. The marketing guys speak to the cayenne/macan/ panamera people. AP is as pissed of as we are with the good looking but no function center locks for an example. It says a lot when the gt4 comes out with Gt3 brakes/ front suspension and 5 lug!!!!!! It would have been a lot easier for PAG to just order new dimension CL for the GT4 and slam them on.

Well that seems ridiculously overpriced for 25hp, bigger wing, bigger wheels, and some lighter bits.

AP's remarks are scripted and vetted by PAG. When the GT3 engine problem litterally blew up he disappeared for months. Now he's back with a new script. The 5 lug decision was economic primarily and secondarily to maintain distance between the Cayman and the GT3. The GT4 is a worthwhile Cayman sport variant, but it's clearly aimed at those enthusiasts who cannot abide the PDK in the GT3. A better solution would have been to offer the MT in the GT3 and provide those enthusiasts with the whole enchilada.

Won't be $200k. Can't just apply spot currency conversion; Porsche pricing never works like that.

Performance wise it'll be more than the sum of it's parts as always. Remember the most significant impact that came out of the 3.8 RS to 4.0 RS upgrade was the change in the torque curve and what it meant for driveability.

Tick tock.

Exactly what i was looking at!
The gt3 costs 137000€ in germany, which was equivalent to 180000USD (a bit less now since euro has dropped but just an idea..).
The gt3 costs 140k(?) in the US?

I think it'll be priced somewhere around 180000USD. Between the turbo and turbo S.. Just speculating of course .

+1
EVERYTIME one of these "price in Europe" posts comes up, everyone automatically does a current currency conversion and comes up with a ridiculous North American $$ figure. It has NEVER happened that way
