Pretty good conspiracy theory.... but it certainly adds up.

Pete. I think you are probably on to something. I was told last year the car would rev to 9000. I suspect that's why fasteners from the RS supposedly made it into the replacement GT3 engines...

I'm planning to be there March 5. Never been to the Geneva show before. For those of you with experience, do you have any tips or suggestions for getting the best out of the show?

For example, do I need to do anything in advance in order to get access to the Porsche display and see the GT3 RS up close, and get in it etc.?

Thanks!

Nothing special to organize in advance. Geneva is show is a small / very compact one in terms of size and number of halls. Really nice. You will be able to see the new GT3 RS very close, I have no doubt about this based on my experience (I attended the last two Geneva shows).

If you want to get into the Porsche hospitality area and probably a seat in the car, I think you'll need at least a letter from your dealer to basically say who you are. My UK dealer is handing out official hospitality vouchers in advance of the show, which I'll be taking with me, not sure which day yet though.

Very interesting! Thanks! Is piston speed the limiting factor to reach 9000 rpm in the RS engine with longer stroke?

I'd be very very impressed, and quite pleased, if the 4.0L revs to 9k rpms.

Very pleased.

If any folks get one of these from a US dealer, please let me know. I'm going to reach out to see if any such thing is available.

Any Reenlist folks that are going to be at the show interested in grabbing a drink or lunch or something at the show?

I'd be up for that if I'm there at the same time, which day(s) will you be there ??
Last time I was there Porsche had a very decent hospitality area with proper food and drinks, by invitation only though. I just had a letter from my delaer on Porsche headed paper saying I had a GT3 on order and that was good enough to get in.

Yep- it would be up over 24 m/s, higher than Porsche has gone before with any street engine. They did leave a little room, though- the 991 GT3 dropped piston speed slightly vs the RS 4.0, so they bought a little headroom, but stroking the engine and maintaining a 9000 rpm redline would still be pushing it...

Can't help you on where to stay - I thought about going but figured I would rather get a new Akra exhaust and see the car in NY instead

I'm ordering it regardless, so don't think seeing it changes anything for me...
