Pictures broke on another forum in October 2012 of the 911 GT3 being photographed at Estoril, so at least some of the images were heavily edited pictures.

Maybe the purple is coming from the tail lights on the limited edition beetle that they took the Java Orange from? They called it Black Orange that time around, but I'm sure it's the same thing

I don't know about blood orange as debut color for the RS....has too much red in it.....

Interesting rumors about the colors (other than Tangerine). I'll be holding out for the PTS window to open.

If the feasibility study for Chartreuse that Brett and I kicked off finishes in time (could take up to 9 - 18 months), I'll be doing that. If not, Voodoo Blue is highly likely.

Hoping for PTS as well, probably going to do Viper or Birch Green. If not, probably black or the purple if it is more the McLaren Amethyst black and less like barney...

If the Purple is a retro color (like Blood Orange), then I might expect them to do an Aubergine (Eggplant) like my old 73 911S. Here's a 73RS in that color: http://cprclassic.com/images/carsinp...RS/images.html

Anyone know anything about this 'Java' Orange color? Sounds like it is something new, and not a Historic color like Blood Orange.

The picture on that model box is straight off the 991 GT3RS Brochure IMO. Its a PAG sanctioned marketing shot. the model was likely created as a dealer special for the launch which I assume was meant to be earlier this year in Paris originally.

The photos of the 991 GT3 being photographed at Estroil. The pictures surfaced well before the final config of the car was known/seen by the public. These date back mid 2013 IIRC. My belief is they photograph the interior "garage" shots, pit lane shots and some "action shots" with these real images then they play with CGI etc
